I went to replace with the standard bulb and found out they are compatible. Depo use a bulb with no base. Going today to parts store to see what is available.

It's an H7 bulb. The Silverstar Ultras are brighter and whiter than any other Halogen I've found. They work good in the Depos.

Thank you. Is the bulb the same for low beam and high beam?

Ok, got them and will install when it stops raining. Thank you again.

Big improvement. Thank you. H7 really helps.

Yes. Much better. More distance and whiter.

ordered the black ones from ramm21, can't wait to install!

I got mine and installed them.

I got them mainly with the hope of better lighting.

The most positive thing I can say is they are a nice update to the look of the front end.

However, I'm not in love with the beam pattern, and I get a weird kind of hot spot (?not sure if that is the right concept?) in the light pattern to the left of the driver side. There isn't anything on the lens, and the reflector appears to be fine. I need to look closer to see what might be causing it. I also think I want to go get some of those silverstar ultra H7s mentioned above to improve the light output.

Some things to be aware of - they are not a glass lens, and very light compared to stock; they use fewer bolts than stock so they don't seem quite as sturdy; they have an integrated turn signal (not a separate turn signal unit like the stock items). Probably all things I could have read on here, but didn't.

I reused some plastic push connectors like posted above where the light housing meets the fender - I had some bits laying around from another project. It adds needed stability to the lens (since it isn't bolted in the outboard side at the bottom like the OEM '01 lamp).

I didn't need a dremel on the connectors, but I did need to pay attention. The male Depo plug body wants to hang up on the OEM female connector body, so you have to mess with it a little to get it to go in.

Also, having the super clear lens makes my fogs look yellow and nasty. :)

I wish there was a cost effective LED upgrade for these older rigs.

Yes, they're a nice update to the looks of the front end.

No, they are not glass lenses.

Yes, a plastic push pin type connector is needed to really snug them up.

Yes, the light connections take a little fiddling to fully seat the connectors to the factory plugs.

Yes, the adjustment/alignment screws are just as much of a PITA to get to (on the driver/battery side) as the factory lights were.

At least on my son's vehicle, I really like the Euro style beam pattern with the "flare" up and to the right. To me, that alone was a huge improvement in driving his car at night.

Lights.webp

One tip to make up/down adjustment easy - use a 8mm craftsman ratcheting combination wrench. It easily fits between the battery and the back of the light where the adjuster is on the driver's side.

Agree on the decent cutoff and angled part being much better than before.

jLB- gorgeous rig! I'm looking at an ARB front bumper. What kind of bulb does the foglight kit take?

I have the same beam pattern - let me know if you figure it out - I am still trying to adjust the pattern.

I believe the ARB fog lights use "H3" bulbs

Great. They plug and play wiring up to the stock fog light harness?

I wouldn't call it "plug and play" (like the depo lights were), but it's not too bad.

^^ Thanks!
