If the 250 is produced as well as the rest of the LC/Prado line, this will absolutely cut into Ineos’ business stateside given that loads of early reservation holders, myself included, canceled when prices were announced. I love my 200, which I acquired when I decided to forget about the Grenadier (and am not looking back whatsoever), and I expect the 250 at the price point at which it will enter is going to satisfy the desire of many who cancelled their IG reservations. Most though the Grenadier would start in the mid 50s. When I built out what I wanted it came out to over $100k, which I absolutely won’t ever throw at a new/unproven vehicle manufacturer on a model year one vehicle. Collectible schmollectible. But the 250 with an upper trim and whatever goodies they provide with warranty, plus $5-10k in upgrades from aftermarket companies familiar with Toyota, I’d jump into that any day of the week. I sincerely hope Ineos does well, I think their success will further drive competition and innovation, but I’m sticking with Toyota. International presence on top of storied reliability and integrity, it’ll take earth shifting changes in off road manufacturing to get me into anything else.
