It's awesome to see other LC guys interested in the Grenadier. I'm spearheading the INEOS dealer here in Boise, ID. We will have our demo vehicles hopefully at the end of August. INEOS is supposed to release the dealer info Sept 7. Hopefully that doesn't get pushed back again.
I'm on the Boise order list. Can you keep us updated here?

The new Land Cruiser/GX may just kill the Grenadier.

I've never owned a hybrid and I'm a simple man from the country. With that said, I cannot imagine a hybrid powertrain in one of these rigs living up to the established pedigree. Time will tell, but I am cautiously optimistic. Or at least I'm lying to myself to try and get excited about whatever this thing will be.

Apples and oranges. This “Land Cruiser” is a Prado. Seems ok but I don’t think it competes in the same segment as the Grenadier. Yeah every new car manufacturer will have reliability issues. But we knew that going in. I’m sure this LC250 will sell well, but not exciting to me. If anything will commoditize the nameplate imo.

Is Toyota in the business of not making money?

The early model LC's weren't hard to get. I guess the "elitist" draw is there for some owners. Some just like the reliability, practicality, and utility capability that owning one provides. Personally, I could care less if more people own one. This will just mean the aftermarket support will blow up and offer more products and options at competitive prices To each their own I guess.

…that is likely still more reliable?
There are Prius taxis at 600k miles on the original battery. 4cyl hybrids. Not a turbo and not doing truck stuff, granted.

The V35A-FTS failures are troubling, though. Less than 0.5% of all 3rd gen Tundras, but still, wouldn’t want to win that lottery.

Agreed, Toyota builds good hybrid systems. The .5% is really concerning on the ttv6 with how low of miles they have to date. The hybrid systems have been great though. I still bought a new Tundra fwiw. Hopefully Toyota has figured out the issue by now. And hopefully the tti4 is solid. I will say that Toyota has build some crazy reliable I4 engines.

The BMW B58 has been really solid so far. The Grenadier has been having a lot (albeit minor) software issues, although nothing that makes the rig not driveable. I'm buying a Grenadier too, but decided to wait for the 2nd model year mostly because my closest dealer is 4 hours away and I'd like first model year issues worked out if I am dealing with 8 hour round trips for any repair.I

My son drives a 2007 Lexus RX400h. Almost 500k miles on it now. Absolutely zero issues ever with the powertrain. Battery still works. Inverter still works. Change the hybrid coolant and clean the battery vent filters occasionally and all good.

Every bit as reliable as my 200.

Will be interesting to see a 200 vs 250 comparison when possible.
Hope that in an effort to make a LC for the masses they didn't compromise on the "tough as nails" durability and overbuilt standards.

With a starting price some $30k less than the 200-Series...this is TBD. I don't see how the new 250 will be as robust and overbuilt as the 200.

2024 LC. The estimated combined fuel economy of 27 mpg. 🙏

Game over for Ineos.
