there it is, beat me to it.

I know the crew cab fully pimped out 09 hemi trucks with 390hp will out run the 09 charger R/T that carries 370hp (we had to test the products we sold...), probally the challenger as well as it is only a few hunderd pounds lighter. the 6 speed gets you a "free'er flowin exhaust with a more aggressive tone" which nets you 5 more hp and 6 more ftlbs of tq

Do you know how many ponies the old cruiser has?

An excellent question my lil' Mes'kin friend ...

My buddy that I used to work with built that motor in Baltimore back in 1992 without even a torque wrench ... in a shipping container that had one light bulb hanging from the ceiling. He was drag racer back in California in the 60's and his claim to fame was a victory on a local SoCal track over a newcomer named Big Daddy Don Garlits. At the time, my buddy ran an un-sponsored, purple Willy's Coupe named "Pussy Galore". Big Daddy got a huge corporate sponsorship deal and ended up in the hall of fame. My buddy knocked up his girlfriend and got a job digging mud to support her. :meh:

A dyno shop in San Diego had that motor up to 360 hp at the rear wheels (33's) when they shutdown the machine because the open headers blew out a window in their shop. They estimated it at 400 at the rear wheels and asked me to get the damn thang off their property. :D

When I quit racin' 'er and started crawlin', we had to take alot of the 'go-fast' s*** off 'er to make 'er run consistently at idle. I have no idea how much horsepower we lost in that process.

The 17 years of abuse that the motor lived thru is a testimony to the skills of a man that had a dream of drag racin' ... that he never got to live. :frown:

Moral of the story ...

wear a rubber. :grinpimp:

Great story and a good truck that went to better hands, I actually met the guy who bought the cruiser.
I just forgot his name.

I hope your happy w/ what you bought and don't start breaking sh1t, since you said that for this truck no trailer is required. I suggest to bring spares because if you break it, you're screw.

The shop/truck owner found a buyer for the Pit Bulls ... and then sold me the BFG's at cost with no shippin'.

Still DAMNED expensive tires tho.:eek:

Went with the 40's cuzz they fit the 17" Walker Evans beadlocks ... the 42's need 20's and I didn't want to buy new wheels. :meh:

:flamingo:

this POS rig not done yet?:flipoff2:

there is one pretty similar over in bedford at grubbs, i keep meanin to stop and see what all is under it. they also have a buggy sittin there as well

Very similar truck indeed ... I talked to them quite a bit 'fore I bought Brutus.

They want a lot of money for it and she's been wheeled hard ... and even rolled once.

I got a much better deal in my opinion.

:flamingo:

any pics with the tube fenders installed?

does grubbs own that one then?
I know each year they send (or used to before they got chryslerr rights taken away cause they didnt sell dodge and only sold chrysler and jeep.) a couple of employee's over to MOAB for the Jeep Jamboree and let em wheel. im pretty sure it was them anyway...

but i never knew what they took.
