Still waiting for the bank to go through their processes. I'm not counting on getting it back but still hoping.

Guess what.. this guy is still at it. Now under Burgett Auto Sales. I called and it was the same guy.. introduced himself as Chad and had the same European accent. I hung up and then he called me back with a voiceover introducing himself as Burgett auto sales. How do ads like this make it onto carfax?

Looks like the pictures were stolen from this BaT 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser URJ200 Heritage Edition - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2021-toyota-land-cruiser-heritage-30/

What do we need to do to take this guy down?
There are some groups on youtube that take down scammers amd get them prosecuted

Sorry for my answer, and the lack of compassion, but the only thing We need to stop people from doing this, is less people like you.

That's a little harsh. As a risk/security professional. I have seen large defense contractors get scammed out of 100k plus over internet/email scams. These are companies with security and cyber security programs and training. No surprise that scams like this happen often with success. And I can tell you that unless the amount reaches 250k, most FBI offices won't even look at it, because it is so common.

Lol what? Are you implying the blame here is with the OP who was victim to a scam?

What an idiot , maybe it's just a Florida thing lol but you're right that is a pretty extreme lack of compassion and this world could DEFINETLY benefit from less people like you

Is probably a Montana thing to call people idiot thru a keyboard and not in person to avoid getting your teeth knocked out. Only one to blame here unfortunately is the OP by sending an amount of money thru a Wire Transfer before doing His due diligence. Scams are continuously growing because people keep bitting the bait. Unfortunate but is the reality.
And yeah, the world might benefit from less people like me, more sunflowers like you would be eating less dirt . Shampoo bottles have instructions thanks to people like this.

There are better ways of communicating a message than being outright rude.

Agreed, piling on insults to a guy that already lost a bunch of money is not what this community should be about. All the folks who stepped up and supported or helped report this guy is who I know the Land Cruiser community to be.

Lol. The irony of your idle Internet threat to knock someone's teeth out for insulting you over the internet. You seem like a really classy guy.

Yeah, OP has learned a lesson the hard way. That does not make him the bad guy here.

I was scammed by an individual going by the name of Shane Skerlong who fraudulantly sold me a 68 Bronco that my bank wired 14K to TD Bank at 1701 Marlton Pike E Suite 200,. Cherry Hill NJ 08003. Account name used is BP EQUIPMENT TRADES LLC. I contacted the security team with the bank and informed them of this transaction and they said my bank has to instigate a recovery request. They appear to be helping the scammers. My bank contacted TD Bank and informed them of this transaction. TD BANK did not help after being told of this transaction.
The same vehicle sold to me is now being advertised on our local Craigslist by Chad Burgett— (219) 946-5833 and the email is affordablecarsalesllp.com/

Buyers be aware

Banks are under the purview of the FBI. You should file a report with the local FBI office regarding this bank. There may be more hits and cumulative cost could be high.

okay scams ...scams and more scams I was scammed in 87, 88, 92, and since then, I have not been scammed. First of all, be SMART think about the translation NEVER EVER believe a still image "They can all be faked" or edited in photo shop. Want to see the person LIVE? ask him to use a android phone and with its build in video app, he needs to be in a VERY well known public place that is tourism driven. he needs to talk to you on that built in app. I cant recall what android uses. Anyway, see if you can record it in a snap shot. NEXT, he needs to goto a local sheriff office, ask him to ID him self "if they allow that" or a notary!". Ai can fake anything from a face, voice and live conversation BUT the built in video app makes it nearly impossible to subvert the video. Now as far as the deal, just have a attorney verify the transaction. Its worse the cost and the pain of a deal gone bad.

Many times the addresses for scam sites are a mismatch thus an obvious red flag. What is shows is that there is an actual business located at the website address. So not an obvious red flag.
I often look at the Craigslist adds and they advertise a car for sale, but would leave out important data. Once it was a LC for sale in Seattle, but the photo showed the truck with WIDE open grass aka, 50 feet or more of grass on either side of the highway I laught, there is NO place ANYWHERE in Seattle with that large of undeveloped land. Second was palm tress and the add said vehicle for sale in Portland Oregon.
