What flashlight does it hold? Mini Mag?

Good question. What IS the ID of the flashlight holder?

What flashlight does it hold? Mini Mag?

The inside diameter of the hole is 1.1". Most of the cheapo flashlights you can get at any gas station, walmart, harbor freight, etc. are all 1" OD. I even have a nice CREE 150 lumens LED I got from costco that fits perfectly. The handle is 1" OD, but then tapers out at the lens to almost 2". That's what I have mounted in my back seat right now. It's great for finding the little toys my kids lose that end up under the seat. I'm not sure I will make the flash light holder a permanent option or not. I first need to get one made and make sure there are no interference issues of any kind. i also need to find out if there is even interest for that option for the front. I personally wouldn't mind having a flashlight at arms reach at all times, but maybe that is just me (and the guy who requested it)

Edit: for those wondering what I'm talking about just go back one page and scroll down to the bottom and you will see the pics of the front double couple holder change I am considering. It would then match my rear double cup holder.

So I got a double cup holder WITH flashlight holder prototyped up. I made one in the Tan "oak" and one in the dark gray. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Right now I have about a dozen front double cup holders in stock of my last design. Once those are gone I will start shipping them with the flashlight addition. If someone wants the first prototypes then just order on my etsy page or my website (see link in my sig below) and just add a message that you want the one with flashlight holder. The price does not change. It's only an extra 25 minutes of printing to add the flashlight holder and on the grand total of a 27 hour print, 25 minutes is nothing. So here's what it looks like.

I forogot to mention, i did test fit it and there are zero clearance issues or interference issues of any kind. It fits and the "pwr" and "2nd" buttons are not effected and the 4Lo shifter can still be easily accessed for use.

I should have asked this earlier; is there someone who was planning to buy a front double cup holder in the future that would change there mind with the adition of the flashlight holder? I just want to make sure i don't lose a potential customer with the change. I will always have the file on hand and can print old versions if requested. I just want to make sure it's as functional as possible without losing any aesthetics.

Would a smartphone slot fit in that location (instead of the flashlight hole) and not interfere with anything?

Let me see what I can do with that request. I normaly just set my phone in the cup holder. That is the main reason why I kep it open between the 2 inserts. I usually have my wallet on one side and my phone on the other. When I have drinks then I set my phone and wallet in the rear cupholder which is quite accesable from the drive seat. Normally I wouldn't deal with so many requests, but i am on vacation for the next 2 weeks so I actually have the time.

Well i have some answeres. A cell phone can't go in the spot where the flashlight is. It's too wide and goes over the "pwr" and "2nd" button. It also can't got on the opposite side of the flashlight holder because it now interferes with the passenger seat movement. There just isn't much space to work with BUT there is plenty of space on the end (closest to the back of the car). If I was going to put in a cell phone slot, it woudl have to go there. My issue now is the build size of my printers. If you look at my pic one page back I don't have much space left to go out anymore with my print.

As you can see in this pic. I don't have much space left to add anything more.
I realized those pics may be a tad confusing so here is a print set up digitally so you can see how this prints in the machine.

You gotta come up with another accessory holder. Phone, navi/gps, backup camera screen, etc that would would be "L" shaped perpendicular to the cup holder.
Then turn back on the DS and hold a CB radio :D

You guys are getting crazy now. I did mock up a phone slot at the end of the cup holder. No matter how narrow i make it, there is just no way I can fit the print onto my machines. I only have one machine that can print a part that big and it's my most unreliable machine. There is no way I am going to trust it to be my only machine that can make my front double cup holder. i think the current design is it. No room to add anything else.

Got the front and rear installed and they are great. What about an organizer with phone holder that goes in the big hole in the front of the center console

I actually have a project with my students coming up after break that will address that exact issue. How can we make this square hole as functional as possible? I will post up their ideas once I have them. Don't forget that these will be high school kids so they may have some crazy ideas.

What about a cover that fits in the mystery tray/OEM cup holder slot? Something that accepts standard 80 series switches would be sweet! Perhaps two switches could fit there...?
One already exists... Gamaviti

Here's mine.

If you're serious about integrating a cell phone holder, you could split the project into 2 separate print jobs. A front half single cup holder & a rear half single cup holder. If you wanted to create a modular design with a front piece "A" and options for the rear piece "B" just a cup holder, or "C" cup holder w/ phone tray.

Create them with with something like a dovetail joint, so joining them adds stability.

Just a thought.
