Just a bump to keep my enthusiasm going :)

Please check the list on the first post. Post up if you want to be added or deleted. We have no limit on the number of trucks going, we will split up into smaller groups as needed and figure out meeting places as we go and mix and match rigs in and out of groups whenever anyone wishes.

The idea of this trip is basically to explore and go the way each group chooses. No set itinerary, just the initial meet time and place which we will firm up among the group as the time approaches.

The list as it stands this morning

1-Izzy @Izzyandsue
2-Jim @RedHeadedStepChild
3-Shaun @angerhater
4-Stan- @NCFJ , Heather
5-Scott @tgadd
6-Joe @little_joe
7-Jamie @weejub
8- @Steelman
9-Dave R @roadstr6
10-James @jamesurq

Still interested. My exam is May 4 so I'll be free that weekend. Will probably have to work for month-end that Friday though, but I could catch up wherever you end up stopping for the night.

Just got the stamp of approval, I am in for this.

Still in, looking forward to it!

Counting on it to save my sanity and to be away from work for a while.

Main list is updated and a Tentative list is started as well

I have heard of the Punch Brothers, don't know if I've heard their music. I have no idea where we will end up Fri night but if folks wish to head that way it works for me. The beer I'll pass on :)

Alex @Green Hell Mustang is confirmed, we are up to 12. Cool. More is fine :)

This is essentially an over landing trip with no firm destinations until we gather together at the rest stop and go from there.

Navigation:
I think that @Izzyandsue will be our best bet as Navigator as he has mapped a fair amount of where we are going.

Gear:
Show up with a fuel tank of fuel, perhaps some will have extra. I am sure if it becomes an issue fuel can be found close enough. If someone has a small chain saw that they can bring that would be great.

We'll be on our own for two and a half days or so, pack accordingly. Self reliance is, after all, a big part of why this is fun.

I'll be bringing a bunch of cut kindling for camp fires. If all bring a bit of wood we should be good. I would not count on a lot of wood around any of the camp sites, they are generally picked pretty clean.

Food & food prep:
Open for discussion. We pack everything we need, do not use throw away utensils, plates, cups etc
We will have a fair sized, for camping, charcoal grill and a two burner propane Coleman stove. When it comes to food we generally pack 1.5 X what we need or more and share. We like to eat well around the camp fire. If everyone does the same with all kinds of different foods you never know what meals will bring. Most are good with some sort of eggs and bacon in the AM so it makes sense to just cook up a bunch.

Water-bring a bunch!

Chime in on your thoughts :)

I have a 18" Echo I can bring. I also have a Yeti 65 that should have enough room for mine and maybe one others rations. I seem to always travel with my Chemex coffee maker, its glass(not ideal) but it will make 6 cups per kettle boil. I also have a dual Coleman and smokey joe Weber if either are needed.

Will bring my Jack Sparrow compass, always points me to what I want.

On the food, one option so as to not create a big traffic jam, we can build a fire or pit, and everyone can just cook what they bring. I am not big into cooking at all so just offering that up.

Folks,

I am going to have to bow out of this trip. My daughter, Ava is having a surgical procedure on the 6th. We just found out the surgery date yesterday. I know the HC trip will be tons of fun. Being at HC in the Spring has got to be a great experience. I hope the weather cooperates and everyone has a safe trip.

Dave
