I never thought I would come across another one in Manitoba since cruisers are pretty rare in general here, but yesterday on my way out to the rig I came across one being used as a plow rig in Virden.

I have only ever seen two in south dakota. Mine, and one that was mostly rotted away (but drivable) I saw one on craigslist a year ago in rough shape that was white and red (was asking WAY to much) and have heard of two others. one from MANY years ago, and one that im guessing is still around.

Also, just my thought process, but to those of you that think there are a bunch out there. I think that some of us on here shouldnt count (the ones who own many, or hang with other cruiser guys) because for the most part only Toyota guys have them (In my experiences anyways) So in general we see, or know of most of the ones in our areas.

So if you know of 10 in your area, chances are there are probably only a couple more in the region.

So, nation-wide I'm still thinking 300 or less...

What I'm getting at is that these trucks are becoming very rare - at least the ones on the road as daily drivers or nearly capable as daily drivers. And by rare I don't mean valuable in a monetary sense (I doubt I'll could get out what I have into mine) rather valuable in a unique and nearly gone sense.

My wife and I are in the early stages of planning our next stop/adventure. 1st choice is Brisbane Australia. However, our parents health may dictate going back to North Fla. In any event, I told my wife that I'll be selling my pick-up truck and keeping the pig no matter where we go.

It took over a year for me to finely see one on the road after I bought mine. You know that rule once you buy a car you see it everywhere? Not so much with piggies. I know there are a few in the Santa Cruz area, and when I saw one pull into a parking lot I scared the crap out of my cycling group as I squealed with glee and skipped over to chat with the owner. He was kinda surprised to meet someone who 1) knew the model and year of his rig on the spot and 2) actually owned one

At least one here in Boise, Id., mine. There was one for sale a year or two ago, it had been repainted a hideous red and white (too red and too whie, looked like a candycane). I sold a gold and white convertible to someone in the North SLC area and took one to the crusher about the same time, about 10 years ago.

I've only seen a handful of them.

One in Pollock Pines, dark green REALLY clean.

The two I now own, one is semi roadworthery (needs tires bad) and the other will be by summer. He had one more but it had no engine... should have bought it. :(

I saw two in Stockton, two in Santa Rosa and one driving down the road on the way to the beach.

4x4 labs has 2 of them sitting out front right now, don't know if they are roadworthy or not.

Funny enough, I was looking at pictures from Rubithon a few years ago and spotted Pighead's cruiser in my pictures, seems it caught my eye being one of the few 55 I've ever seen in person so I snapped a picture. :)

As Joe M said, we used to see a bunch at the Pig run at Rausch Creek but it's dwindled down to one last year. I plan on having mine on the road at some time, I really wanted to restore it for my pop to see but I don't know if I'll get it done in time as he's really aging and that really bothers me. When it does get done, I see it being a Poser unfortunately.

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that the most 55's I see on ebay or anywhere else seem to come from Wa State or Oregon.

I would bet more than a 1000.

I know of 5 local myself.

The way to find out is to start a list like the ones we've started in the 45 section. Figure you get 20-25% of the owners if you get most of the Mud owners. I was thinking we'd see about 15-20 LVs and we're over 70 so far. I wasn't really expecting even 10 SWB FHT 45s and that list has been growing too.

Ok. Of the five I know of two would fire right up and drive to breakfast. They are clean and well cared for. Two could be made running pretty quickly, but as far as I know do not, and one that I drove just yesterday that one could only make it to breakfast if it didn't go more than 25 mph, but it wouldn't matter what was between here and there even a little.

All five are owned by mud folk.

I think everyone would just decide to go around Cerdito w/o honking on that taco run :-)

Hey, Jeff cruiser...I think there are more than you think. I haven't been around in awhile but I have two myself. I also have seen at least four or five driving in the last few years down here in the 253. Also, know of a couple in the 206... I'm never even up there. It just seem like they pop up out of the woodwork on CL as well every once in while. I know there are quite a few of them up here in the rain:)
