Thanks for posting that...apparently I live under a rock, impressive doesn’t really do it justice.

I rode passenger in an all wheel drive Mitsubishi Miage rally car with 450 plus horsepower one time. Its the first time I experienced left foot braking.

For some who might not know left foot braking: the right foot holds the accelerator pedal to the floor and the left foot uses the brake pedal to adjust the speed of the car, less brake the car accelerates, more brake slows the car down but the wheels are still forward pulling so there is actually no deceleration of power to the wheels. No brake skid. Every microsecond the car is in acceleration mode. The driver was seriously skilled.

I wanted out in the first 1/4 mile. It was the most insane ride I have ever encountered.

After about a half hour recover (stopped shaking). I wanted to do it again.

With the repurposed bucket seats in my Zeke, I'd drive it across the country if I had to. It is a nice riding vehicle. Reliable, too.
Comfort and reliability are key for a good trip, but CruiserJunction had a good plan if ever breaking down. Get to the nearest big town and rent a box van with trailer and worry about when you get home. It seems like most long trips we take something needs attention when getting home. I've just accepted it as part of the hobby and when it goes right I take it as a gift.

Eggzackly!

That’s why it‘s an adventure just getting from point A to point B. It’s an expedition if you actually do something along the way.

Just carry an extra starter, right? :) What's your end goal for it, traveling or around town, etc.?

Right now it's my around town rig. When I retire in a bit under 2 years, It'll be my daily driver, and I'd like to move further out in the country. and it'll be my every day driver and work truck.

I doubt I'll ever be able to talk my wife into taking a long trip in it, so may do the occasional bachelor trip, as I've been doing so far. I've criss-crossed the midwest to the southeast a few times with it already.

When we first started planning our 55 pre stroke, it was to be a stock looking diesel powered go anywhere rig. The plan was to tow our Airstream to both coasts over time and explore this great country we live in. Given the situation life has bestowed on us, I just want to put it back together and drive it. Wife has zero interest in traveling anywhere, so around town diesel grocery getter will work.
