Lx, you sir are the bling king.

Blarsen, That looks kickass nice. Could you post a few pics of the under side of your hood? I would like to see how much of the support structures you had to cut into.

Karl

I removed NONE of the supports. I worked with the structure in place and ducted it to the intercooler.. sorry no pictures of the underside of the hood.. if you do a search for blarsen and look the intercooler post you can read all about it..
later

I think thats the same one I am looking at. So you didn't do any welding and just took a sawzill to your hood?

I used a roto-zip with a fiber blade to cut it from the top. i taped off the hood and covered the engine so none of the metal would get inside. after I cut the hole I put primer and paint on the bare metal.
it took some time, the hood is made of heavy steel (for a hood).. I have no hood flex or shake... good luck..

Did you have the hood shake before you put it on? Cause I have it and it annoys the living hell out of me.

Here are a few of mine with a Subaru scoop... it provides air for my intercooler..

I thought for sure it would look stupid but it looks fine! maybe it would stick out more on a light colored truck but nice work

The funny thing is that it looks better on an 80 than the Subaru it came of of.. he he
As for hood shake, I had none and still have none..
thanks

Could try to source a scoop from an Australian Toyota HiLux. Nissan Patrols also have a similar scoop.

2006 HiLux

I like that lots!!! Does it have an actual baffle inside with drain tube for rain or snow weather? Part Number?

This thread got me partially moving and blarsen is using the same scoop I had planned on, wandered over to ebay and found one for sale for $20.

Now to see how long it sits on my shelf before I take it to the next level.

Thats kinda like asking how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop.

Hmm, I'll have to add it to the project list.

Being that I prefer ridiculous mods instead of mild ones...I'll go for the 04-05 STi scoop instead of the posted WRX one..its bigger.

Go big or go home.

Now if I can just convince my wife to let me get the 6" Slee lift.

Romer, tell us about that fancy thing in the background with the huge intercooler up front.

If your talking the pictures, thats the sellers photo.

Got my $20 hood scoop from ebay. Was thinking of painting it, but I think I like it the way it is. Goes with the snorkel. Now all I have to do is either get the courage to cut the hood or hopefully find someone with more skills in this area to either hire or help :D
