Put in a solid 7 hours on the 47 today, mostly on bodywork, and starting with the aprons

Hi HJ.
I made a mental note to post a photo of "my glow controller coil glowing" as soon as I got my vehicle back together enough to be able to fire it up safely. So here is that photo:

Gidday,Have been following your build an its looks like it is coming together nicely for you.I have a HJ47 and am planning to do a complete rebuild, at the moment I don't have a lot of time so I am trying to source as many parts as possible I like the oem stuff but some of it is hard to find!In post number 72 you have a radiator overflow bottle cap with hoses that are from Australia Maybe you got the last one because my local dealer says there are none in OZ maybe Japan?I was wondering which dealer you went through here as mine isnt very reliable. There were thousands of these things sold here in OZ so its hard to believe that most of the oem stuff I have got has come from USA The stuff here they tell me is no longer available, or so over priced.Regards Shamus
That looks like a cherry red sort of glow to me, not a dull red. And the wire coil doesn't melt eh?.........
Hey thanks for that !dont know how I overlooked them? done plenty of searches for parts only ever found after market stuff. Will contact him and see if he can help with the oem stuff.(Managed to get the bottle just need the cap now)Funny you mention the wreckers don't see many of them there I don't know where they have all gone? They turn up pretty regular in the local trading posts though.Hi Shamus,
the company I have obtained parts from is 4x4parts and the contact is David Porter : davidp[at]4wdparts[dot]com[dot]au
He's been helpful and the service prompt.
It is getting pretty hard to get some parts - I find about 8 out of 10 parts I'm chasing are obsolete. It could well be that I got one of the last radiator bottles if there are no more in Oz. David Porter can check with Japanese to see if the parts are available, and he will bring them in for you if he can find them.
At least you have tons of used ones to draw upon in your country, and i imagine they turn up at the wreckers here and there. You'd never see a 40 series at a wrecker around where I live, not to mention something as exotic as a 45 series.
