I see some threads have been started asking the life of an 80 engine, I was wodering how many miles each of your 80s have on the OD right now (original engines) and MAJOR repairs youve encountered keeping it on the road that long.

I just turned 331000 (94) on mine last week, head gasket and normal PM is all I have done so far (yes I have had almost every code you can have on the ECU) and the EGR cleaned out 2x.

mileage, year?

96, 225k, HG job, and overhaul as pm.

96, 167K, nothing major.

96 LX with 130k. Ive also had 33's for about 5k miles now so theres no telling what its really at.

96 with 176k. Original fan clutch, radiator, water pump, starter, alternator, etc.
Replaced 2 batteries 3 sets of belts and hoses as pm. 1 Thermostat. 2 gas caps. 3 sets of brake rotors . on the 4th set of tires.

96 w/123k, Just did 1st tuneup with 02 sensors. Runs like a top.

pushing 170K, so far as deep as I have gotten into the engine is the valve cover to check valve clearance.

1993 - 160k, HG and normal maintenance.
1997 - 160k, HG and normal maintenance. Radiator replaced at 132 due to PO neglect.
1993 - 312k, normal maintenance. Radiator replaced at 280 or so due to a previous mechanic's knee on the top tank. (bro in law's rig I maintain now out of sheer curiousity and love of the machine)
