Help - squirrel chewed transmission wires! 1944 FJZ80

I'm hoping someone out there can help a brother out!

A squirrel got under my pride and joy (1994 LC FJZ80) and chewed a bunch of wires off the transmission. Here is a list of the broken/chewed wires.

1. Sensor on top of transmission wires: Y/G, W/B. (photo 4010)
2. Wires in connector that was chewed off: G, B, Y, L, L/R (L is Blue). (photo 4004 and 4005)
3. Wires in chewed harness: Y/G, W/B, W/B, G/L, G/Y, G, G/B. (photo 4009)

Does anyone have a 1994 that can show me a photo of how those wires connect back together?

I currently do not have any vehicle speed sensors and the O/D light is flashing on the dash (it goes out when pressed).

I'd recommend removing the whole transmission wiring harness. Once its on the workbench it'll be a lot easier to repair.

I pulled mine years ago due to a CDL that wouldn't work correctly and cleaned it all up, fixed damaged wiring, re loomed the whole thing.

the harness is NLA so i suggest grabbing the whole transmission/tcase harness from someone doing a drivetrain conversion, and I'd buy two of them!

I am unsure what you are actually asking the board for. Do you need help identifying the connectors, wires, etc.? or Do you need sources to get replacements.

If you go into the resources section (https://forum.ih8mud.com/resources/categories/80-series.20/) there is an electrical wiring diagram and manual available and they are free. Would suggest downloading them as they are very helpful.

@ZackR suggestion will input some initial labor but will save a lot of lying on your back and frustration in the long run.

Place a bright led lighting in the truck and engine bay if you park it outside. Mice hate it.

Hello all:

I’m lucky enough to be working on a cool project at the shop where we will be rehabilitating a OBD 1 1FZ-FE engine harness. As such, it seems there is some information useful to the community as I go through this process that might be worth passing along and sharing.

We’ll be disassembling an 82121-60342 engine wiring harness and reconstituting it using all OEM parts. This engine harness has been discontinued for a long time. I know of one NIB/NOS iteration owned by another well-known parts nerd for his own vehicle. Other than this person, I don’t know of another version...

All - thanks for the hints! I was able to find a used transmission wire harness from Japanese Auto Parts Inc. USA-UT(Lehi) E-mail 1-800-359-8211. They were great!
