As I work through my LX's problems exhaust manifold leaks is rising to the top. I installed a new muffler recently and now the noisiness up front in the engine bay is real noticeable. I don't have much of a tick so much as a constant noisy engine. No problem! I was honestly surprised how loud the ticking was with just that crack. It's unbelievable how quiet the truck runs now! Are you anticipating doing the same repair soon?
Need help finding one of these for my LX cladding, anyone know a part number?

It was me. Glad you like.Got some cheap mats off Amazon, I am loving the fit so far, and for $50 you can't beat them! I saw these on someones build thread, but can't remember who for the shout out haha
A bit of recent baseline work and mods:
- swapped out the fan clutch, flushed the coolant system, and cleaned out the reservoir
- Replaced the old heater hose Ts with OEM
- Added some Lucas oil seal leak for the rack and pinion, I will be replacing it in the next month. That said I have noticed a noticeable improvement since adding the stop leak
- Found a cheap magnetic mount at Walmart for $5, drilled a single hole, hammered a nut inside the mount, and threaded it into place for my Ultraguage mount.
Ahh ok, I am looking for the tan piece! I am going to need to fab something upAre you looking for the white clip? or the little tab? If it's the tab you can't replace that without getting a new cladding piece.
Yeah mine was having the same issues. I got all the gear to do both sides and went for the more difficult driver's side first. It took me the whole day! It's quiet now, so decided to wait to do the passenger side for now.As I work through my LX's problems exhaust manifold leaks is rising to the top. Thanks for sharing the pics, that's great to see how badly those can crack.
Good find! Love them so far, I am not a fan of the large lips on the weathertechs. I am really impressed with the fit of the second-row mat.It was me. Glad you like.
Damn that is impressive! I did hang onto it, I have been hanging onto all the older OEM parts that are finally goingIf your old fan clutch was oem (blue hub) hang onto it, those are rebuildable and you can swap thicker fluid in. The fluid wears out and looses it's viscosity over time.
The 80 guys run these and rebuild them with thicker fluid and adjust the set point (I put 30k cst into a brand new hub for my 80) and the 100 will likely get the same treatment down the road.
I went all the way up to 30k
Were you able to verify the leak before dismantling things or was it a bit of a leap of faith?Yeah mine was having the same issues. I had a loud ticking, I was unsure if it was both sides but definitely knew the drivers' side was cracked somewhere. I lucked out for now that fixing the one side resolved it!Were you able to verify the leak before dismantling things or was it a bit of a leap of faith?
I presume you removed AHC? If so, I'm curious what led to the decision to go for a downgraded conventional setup over fixing AHC.Well I survived, it took me all day Saturday and half of Sunday, the rear shocks were a pain! Pics to come.
That's correct, I removed the AHC system. Perhaps if I knew what a functioning system felt like I would have kept it haha. All I know is the setup I just put on feels lightyears better than what I was riding on!I presume you removed AHC? Commonly the fix is a set of globes for ~$750 shipped. Diagnosis is really quick. That's correct, I removed the AHC system. Perhaps if I knew what a functioning system felt like I would have kept it haha. All I know is the setup I just put on feels lightyears better than what I was riding on!
Yeah, all great points, I understand the AHC is a great system! I am currently liking the feel of the kit I put on, it reminds me of my 80 series in how it responds, but also more comfortable. I am excited to get the 285 BFGs on it this weekend!Commonly the fix is a set of globes for ~$750 shipped. Diagnosis is really quick.
At any rate, hopefully you can sell most the used AHC components!
