(I don't know if I should rebuild the 6 or go with the V8 swap. I've read the posts in the FAQ and I'm still not sure. I'm leaning toward a rebuild becuase I almost positive that is what Josh would have wanted to do.)

This thread is quite emotional for me, my parents both died recently and my interest or renewed interest in all things Land Cruiser but particularly the 40 series started again after they were gone. As a kid we had a 40 series and although it was long ago it was always the favorite vehicle for the whole family. The 40 series are a link to those times and the years they lived in Papua New Guinea surrounded by Land Cruisers.
I can't imagine a better vehicle for your plans, 15 years seems a long time in the world at the moment but it's not that long for a 40 series. If you can, stick with the I6 I would - it makes the vehicle that bit more special.
