Hell for Stout shackles ‘67 FJ40

Finally got around to installing these shackles I ordered in March. Currently have the anti-inversion shackles from my OME suspension reversed because of clearance issues with my Saginaw power steering.

When I went to install them they are a good 3/8” wider than my current setup; even the shoulders on the bushings won’t fill the void. If I installed them they’d be floating that 3/8”.

So my question is; did I get the wrong shackles?

Ordered: T1079 pair: shackles HFS-FJ40 63-80 2ea. 2 1/2” - 5/8” bolts

Bushings HFS Poly 40 series ‘58 - 7/80

Truck is a ‘67 with the OME 4” lift.

I had the same problem with some HD ones from SOR. They had different bushings that took up the gap. Maybe check with CCOT to see if they have other bushings with thicker shoulders.

Never like those H shackles, your ome shackles are made better with shoulders like the factory one
Why not just cut it like this ?

You could install some big washers to take up the space from the hardware store

I have the same shackles. Did this same washer trick and it works fine. Grease them up a little first.

Thanks guys. Had thought about cutting them but doing that cleanly stopped me. Will call CCOT and if that don’t work, will throw some washers in there.
