Drive it, seize it and contact Anesti to have him help you source a 12H-T drop that in, and accelerate up the mountain on HWY 25 in 5th gear... Nothing says "I need a new motor" like one that is blown, just ask nascar drivers... Kidding, unless you really want a diesel and the 20 or so MPG that it offers...

I get 15-16 with my 2F!

Don't be a hater!

lol, u guys have more money than sense. Will try to get everything i need for the weekend. I guess big dent will be a no show even if i show sat.

looks to be a very easy repair so long as you do it in the vehicle. Just got to make sure none of the shavings get down into the engine. Plan on shooting it real good with cleaner then chaning/flushing out your oil immediately.

Post up the exact tap size you need i might have one that you can use. I have both metric and standards here at the shop, that should save you a little cash.

Per trollhole i think i need to go up to 5/16ths. Time is going to be my biggest enemy im afraid.

5/16 but what thread count?

Tell you what...go pick up your loctite and set screw then tell me what the thread pitch is on the bag the set screw comes in.

chances are i have a tap.

ok, i will get back with u. Where can i get the set screw? Just at the hardware storeor something like allens nut and bolt??

go to a small hardware store like ACE, Carson Nut & bolt, AAA fasteners. Ask people at home depot/lowes they look at you like a deer in headlights when you ask for anything other than a 5/16 bolt.

tried to scrub it down and degrease today. I have to go to work early and i always have 3 or all four kids in my ear as i try to do something so tommorow i will degrease again. My play $ does'nt hit the bank until friday so i will not make a tool/supply run before saturday or so. Besides i want to see it leak before i know it is the problem.

Would an easy out not pull out the old bolt or must it be drilled. I am not removing head from engine and it is a tight area as u can imagine. Just mentally picturing having a hard time knowing how hard to drill but i worry too much about stuff also.

my old 60 had a broken tap as its plug.

OK i can get a 8mm bolt fairly easy. Do i still use 1/4"m drill for drilling out old plug? Would rather use 8mm so i don't have to drill bigger hole if i can.

if you use 8mm i don't belive you have to drill. Just tap.

well i went to lowes today. They suck almost as much as bellsouth. They don't sell that many taps separately. Only had 1 drill bit that would fit my drill. Picked up punch, 3lb hammer for dent removal and couple other things. Gonna attempt fix monday morning. Gotta remove that heater pipe first though.

Will be at ace hardware 1st thing mon for tap, screw and loctite.

well cruiser one this round. Gonna pull the head and have it looked at and probably rebuilt.
