Now that i have eaten and calmed down i may try it one more time before pulling the head. Just aggrevated that something this simple is causing me such grief.
Trying to do something without the right tools=pissed off.
I always buy new bits. Nothing I hate worse than using a dull bit. I should probably get a drill doctor, but at $150 I figure i can buy a lot of bits for that.
Good luck on wed.
Jeremy

Take all the bolts off that are circled. The valve train bolts come off first then lift the valve train out. Next is the manifold bolts (there are a couple under the manifold) Then the alternator bracket. Disconnect hoses. Label the lifter rods 1-12 and take them out. Take the head bolts out. There is a sequence to taking them out. The FSM should have a good diagram. Then lift the head off. It's not hard it's just heavy, REALLY HEAVY, Cherry picker is you have one because there is no good place to stand and lift it off. Take pictures of everything and label everything. get some bolts that are the same thread as the head bolts, cut the heads off and slot for a screw driver, use for alignment when assembling.
