Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that these mount straight to the third row seat brackets. Where as the Hanna carriers mounted to the bracket and the floor.
Ken wanted to 'triangulate' the mounting for maximum strength and durability. This is why it's tied into the floor.
It takes up no more usable space and adds a ton of strength and stability.
The floor support also adds 4 new tie-down points.
There is some brilliant CAD-CAM that went into the mounting design.
I'm willing to bet it's the strongest piece in the entire interior.
I'm really proud of being involved with the design of the carriers because of Ken. They really are a no-compromise design- I could go on and on about all the details but that's enough.
