Sitting at work wishing...

Hello All,
It's Friday, I'm at work, grading papers, entering grades before my kids come in. I can't help but wish I was back in the warehouse with everyone working.
What an uplifting, special, almost spiritual, experience. Is anyone else having withdrawals?

Pretty much always.

I feel really weird if I go to bed at night without having done anything to the cruiser. Anything from changing oil to rotating tires to picking up the piece of paper that fell under the passenger seat...I gotta do something!

As far as withdrawals you bet. I met and wrenched next to some of the Best Toyota and Cruiser Heads I have ever met  I even got rid of an old Crappy Sweatshirt :grinpimp: Your Daughter is a Joy and a Great Helper :bounce:

I was so worked up after the build I went home and dove back into my 40 project that I have been putting off for a year...... I will be pulling out the engine this weekend

Yeah, working on this cruiser gave me the kick in the pants I needed to get my projects rolling....

"Silly boy, cruisers are for Joni now!" ---- Thanks Rob, she ran circles around me with a wrench after your tutelage!

Yeah, I drove down to where my 40 is stored in pieces Wednesday afternoon. I had a great Toyota to work on, but no great people around. I kicked tires and parts, and went to the golf course.:frown:

Hello All,
Jean asked me to share this. Josh's unit is the focus of the book, The Good Soldiers. David Finkel, the author, spent close to 10 months with Josh and his unit. The book tells the story of those who died during David Finkel's assignment. Chapter 7 tells about Josh.
It's time to go sit in the FJ.

I think all that snow was photoshoped in...Rob was freezing here. He'd rarely go outside with that kind of snow.
And thanks Hendog...Keep in mind Bronco's don't get stuck. <grin>
I tack welded the seats today, had the local tire shop replace a valve stem that was leaking, put in longer seat belts, (that are still too short for Jared) and drove it some. good times...
Man, I miss you guys.

Jean had a great idea that we wish would have come sooner...we should have had everyone that attended the build sign the Metaltech banner, that's now handing in my carport.
I'll bring it to any event I attend and I'll get signatures then.

That's an awesome idea! Can I hang my t-shirt and let everyone sign it too?:bounce:

The Spirit of St Louis

That reminds me of Lindbergh's famous airplane.

After he had it built for his famous trans-atlantic flight, he asked all the fabricator's to sign his airplane. The last part to be secured in place was inside the nose cone on the propeller.

One can see all the signatures today at the Smithsonian Institution in DC.

EDIT: By the way, that is NOT a Nazi Swastika. That is a Dharmic symbol of "Good Luck" commonly used for thousands of years. The Nazi swastika runs in the opposite direction and set at a 45 degree angle.
