Well rolled in around 4 today. Have to say Rob, Steve and the rest of the guys had done a ton of work already. The cruiser is pretty much stripped. There were people already stripping paint of parts and pressure washing other parts. A whole lot of work has already been done and this is only day 1! Top is off and right before I left they were only a few minutes from having the front axle off.

I left the guys to go eat with the family and Becca show me around UGA where she went to school. Just got back to put the kids to bed before I go back over to start my work for the night. Looking forward to doing some wrenching. Right now everyone is over at James house eating dinner.

There is a camera crew that has been filming the build and the people. And when I mean camera crew I mean booms, lights, cameras, and just about everything you can think of as well as a prefession photographer. Really pretty cool. The warehouse is nice as well plenty of space to get everything done.

One thing we could use if anyone has a chance to grab one is a cooler and some ice. I need a place to keep my drink of choice cold as well as others. Also as Steve stated we could use some extension cords.

And if it couldn't get any better the Hotel Steve lined up for us is extrememly nice. For 65 dollars you get a big flat screen tv some nice beds, a big couch. I think the rooms usually go for 200 or so a night. Best yet the hotel is only 5 miles from the place so it's easy to get to.

Anyway I'm off to go work into the night and have a few cold ones. Will try to post some pics in the morning.

Oh and we scored a set of mint 71 seats from a potential new UC member. Pat really hooked us up. Cannot thank him enough for the donation.

Steve / Marshall,
If you could, please post up else you may need tonight or very early. I have a pile of things to load in the morning, but I can add to it as required.

FYI One item I have in the pile is a microwave oven out of the shop. It is small, but functional.

Thanks

Troll i'm bringing a cooler. were you able to find some mirrors? or if anyone else has side mirrors for a 40 they would be willing to sell me bring them with.

All I can say is WOW!!!

This morning I left my house with 10 tires and wheels, steering parts, shock mount and 200 lbs of UC canopyand sponsor banners. Got the donated tires mounted to the donated wheels, picked up the shirts and made it to the Reeves' residence in time to be fed a wonderful meal by a very welcoming family. Then, to top it off, did some wrenching on the front suspension. Things are going great so far.

Hope to see you tomorrow!!!

I'll call AntFJ in the morning but we could use about three cans of Rustoleum hammered silver (I think that is what it is called - I think there is only one silver) and two cans of matte clear coat. I'll need a plain gloss silver two 1 can, but I'm not sure the exact silver. Probably something close to stock wheel silver would be good.

Sorry no pics. I'm posting from my iPhone.

The film crew was great and I can't thank everyone who has come out and our sponsors also. The Reeves family have been very gracious as a bunch of loud, dirty and smelly Cruiser heads invaded their house today.

See everyone tomorrow. We got s ton of work done today and everyone is pooped.

Rob came all the way from California to have his first ever bowl of SOUTHERN GRITS !

Good night John Boy. You guys really need to post pics for us that weren't able to attend. It sounds like a great time

I'll say it since no one else will: this thread is useless without pictures!

Sorry pictures may take some time. We don't have wifi here at the warehouse, so some who stay at the hotel may post up later. I think steve is going to post a couple from his iPhone.

But back on topic, we have a great gaggle of folks wrenching, scraping, grinding, welding and getting it done.

How much is going to be done today?
How much will be left to do tomorrow/monday?
How many people are there today?
How many people will be there tomorrow?

We need one rear brake light lens for a 69 to 73 40.

Also need a u joint for a 71 40.

Could use at leas one pair of wheel cylinders for a 71. We have member looking for them but are not sure if he has them.

And need fine spline hubs.

K9 has a pair of hubs at her house but needs someone to pick them up.

If anyone can help please call me at 864-787-4504.

Someone please email me at steve at two springs llc do t com whom I can email some pics to to be posted.

Thanks!

I'm home, so if someone wants to shoot me pics, I can post them up.

Oh, and there is PLENTY left to do tomorrow. The drivertrain was just about to go in when I left. One rear spring was off and being cleaned. The cage is done, but not in. Seat frames were in paint, and there were about a dozen projects going on all over the room.

I am bringing the grill, with a flat top.

The main course for lunch Sunday is: philly cheesesteak sandwiches

I am also providing:
all homemade/cooked
broccoli and english pea pasta salad (creamy buttermilk/mayo dressing with basil pesto)
potato salad
sauteed mushrooms, onions and mixed bell peppers for your sammie
mayo, lett, tom

I will probably pack a little bit of chicken salad and wheat bread for non-red meat eaters, but I doubt there are many of those in this group.

I will go to the barn tomorrow A.M. and look for the parts you asked for above, but if anyone else has those parts bring them as my stash has dwindled over the years. I called Advance on the cylinders and they would take 2-3 days....

call or post if you think of anything else I can bring, I will be leaving Royston around 9:30

Long day of work yesterday.... another one comming up. Engine, tranny, tcase combo is in the truck.
