E Brake cable

I think I used my stock one - but I'll check to be sure. The disc brake that Big Sal and i've installed doesn't seem to hold that well. I'm going to something else in the future as soon as i get some time. But I still love the H55!!!! Best upgrade possible I think.

An attempt to define exactly what components are necessary for an 82 split case ebrake/H55:

Have a list from Kurt, to whom I'm appreciative of the time spent on the phone, that consists of the following:

Output Shaft (36231-60021)
Retainer (36231-60031)
Bearing (90363-35013)
Backing Plate (46503-60020)
Drum (46501-60030)

Parts details:

Have the drum from Georg, whom I believe reiterated Kurt's statement that the backing plate could be from any 40/45, since [Backing Plate (46503-60020)] is NLA.

Believe I've sourced the [Output Shat (36231-60021)] and the [Output Shaft Bearing (90363-35013)] leaving only the [Retainer (36231-60031)] to be located.

All said though, I don't have a clue and don't wish to wear out my welcome with vendors.

Any takers?

Any takers on what?

:)

If this is the definitive list of all that's necessary for an 82 split case e brake:

Output Shaft (36231-60021)
Retainer (36231-60031)
Bearing (90363-35013)
Backing Plate (46503-60020)
Drum (46501-60030)

and in lieu of the depicted Backing Plate (46503-60020), what part number from a 40/45 is required?

retainer (36231-60031) nfg
bearing (90363-35013) available
backing plate (46503-60020) replaced by 46520-60902: Disco
drum (46501-60030) nfg

I'm wondering how different that backing plate is, have you tried mating that drum up with a one-piece case backing plate? I'd think the flange pattern is the major difference in the drum, especially since the same internals work.

Just thinking out loud ... looks like with the drum you've sourced most of it with what Beno posted is available ($$ aside) -

What is nfg?

The pattern was stated different, but I don't know .

Have sent the "order these" email but haven't a reply to solidify.

I tried both the late 85 FJ60 cross member and a 'fabrd' tail shaft cross member, - I'm using the 'fabed ' tail shaft cross member with no issues. I'm traveling this week on the East Coast and moving into a new house on Monday/Tuesday, but if you need pics ill do my best to get some. If you need a 'fabed' cross member I think I have an unused spare in my stash, but will take some time maybe to rediscover it after the move - you can have it for packing and shipping.

Thanks

Not sure if this is the only thread dedicated to stuffing an H55 into a 55, but it was the one I found when searching.

I am curious how people like the shifter position if you are using the 60/70 top plate? Is anyone running H55 w/ 60/70 top plate and the 55 front bench seat?

Pics of the tunnel mods required would be useful as well!

@wngrog put up some good pics here: Pig drivetrain questions- 2F/H55/Splitcase
