Very nice...How would just using a d-ring work for hooking it up? Just curious...I yet to use my winch on my rig. Looks good!

It has the thimble (normal loop) on the end of the synthetic line and instead of a hook with a pin I am putting a D ring through. To use it, I just spool out, hook to another D-ring, and pull.

Yeah ok...duh! It was to easy for me to conceive. Lol :D

WAY improved. The handling is much better and it is smoother. The lift was made for the extra weight for sure.

Got one

So, I have been looking at some 2000 LXs. I saw your thread yesterday and tonight I own a pearl white 2005 gx470. Good thing I am not very impulsive. Still a little part of me wants the "big boy" landcruiser or LX. I was happy to leave my King Ranch diesel behind. My first venture into "newer" cruiser arena. I have owned 15 cruisers either fj45s, 55s, 40s and a couple 60s. Would like to talk to Dan about lift and tires. This thing looks a bit too much like a grocery getter!

Thanks for the inspiration.

Saw this thing at the Dick's sporting Goods in Canton about a week ago, looks even better in person.

You should have said hi. I was there with my sons gearing up for spring sports.

I will eventually do the ARB bumper and paint it silver. :)

If you are interested in seeing other GX builds, I have compiled a list of all the GX470 's that are being built (that I know of) on the very first post of my build thread...

Let me know if I missed any!

Cool, yeah, I have checked your thread, very well done (I got some ideas from it actually).

I don't frequent that other site though...they were...not so nice.

I hear you on the...not so nice. Unfortunately that is where my build thread is and I don't have the time to move it somewhere more friendly and more helpful.

If anything I am hoping my build view count exceeds one of the SASholes over there that razzed me about choosing a GX.

Dan, you have me eye-balling gx470s around town and thinking of their potential... I really hope the 80 has another 240k miles left in her but...

I wouldnt kick this cruiser out of a bed over an oil leak
