I havent read the whole thread so not sure if its been discussed but does a new replacement valvebody rectify the problem? Thanks @BamaPaul for doing the research on this. I hope this turns out to be a successful fix.

I didn't know if anyone has just replaced the valve body yet. But I haven't researched to see if that's a valid option. The new one from Mr. T is part number 3541060660 and runs about $1000 if you want to try it out.

Maybe someone from Toyota corporate hangs out on these threads and can let us know. 🤞 Nissan North America used to do that sort of things back in the day, and those guys were EXTREMELY helpful.

If one was going to replace their valve body, this would be the way to go:

Cost is similar to a new OE Toyota valve body. I have the A750F version in my 470 and it's one of the best upgrades I've done. It was sourced from Cruiser Brothers in CA.

@BamaPaul I hope this is the solution! One thing I am concerned about is the fact that we are in Spring/Summer weather currently. I do sometimes get the codes during this time of year buts it's mostly present during cold temps. Where are you located and what are the temps?

Alabama, and that's been my concern as well. I've been parking outside since I changed everything and it's been 65*F or so in the mornings on startup.

Any idea as to why it is a temp thing? Is it the internal O rings and items expanding? That’s what I have thought as once it warms up it’s fine “usually” for the rest of the day.

The transmission has an engine coolant line running to it to warm the transmission quicker and improve fuel economy (😂 fuel economy). No idea why it's temperature dependent unless it is due to higher viscosity of the cooler fluid, or the clearance at 40* vs 200+

Maybe I missed it, but how did the ball end up in the wrong place? Is it one of those things where it can become dislodged during installation of the valve body? I'm glad that repositioning it worked!

I drove 400 miles and had the P2714 come back on, but the truck still shifted normally without stopping at 4th gear. So I drove it for another couple days and the light went out, this has never happened to me before for this issue. I was out of town and didn't have tech stream so i wasn't able to go through and test the solenoids. I will be home all this week so will continue to drive this GX and see what if anytime changes.

Keep us updated if it comes back!

Do we have any recorded instances of someone replacing the whole vavlebody and solenoids and not fixing the issue?

We do not…. So far, this is the farthest I’ve seen on a thread.

Other at times have done solenoids and or speed sensors. This is the first with the Sonnex kit.

P2714 came back today on my way home for lunch. Drove fine on the way in at 8 am 72 degrees, noon 77 degrees 22 mph the cel came on and 4lo started flashing but shifted up to 6th gear without issue. I hooked it up to techstream when I got home and it showed p2714. I ran through all the solenoids and every one of them came on and went off when triggered by the computer. Nothing else looked out of place. This is 600 miles in

Oh man! Sorry @BamaPaul! Ugh.

Only thing left is the valve body correct? It’s the only other thing I’ve heard folks mention.

I have cleaned my valve body fully, so I assume (I know I'm an a$$ for that) that it should be good. I'm thinking it's either clutch material from "lifetime" fluid or wiring to one of the solenoids. My money is on "lifetime" fluid though. Is there anyone with this issue who has owned their truck since new and started replacing fluid at 60-90k?

Replacing the harness on my A750F was not hard and provided several benefits in shift quality. IMO, it's worth trying. My P2759 code was intermittent as well. There were no visual indicators that the old harness had problems.
