There are plug ends to get to cancel the srs warning. Highly recommend them.

I have had them for 3 years or so and cant remebwr where I got them.
I purchased those like year ago in preparation. I’ve hidden them in a bag somewhere.

Oh yeah. That was a bit tweaked! I was just trying to decide if I should get aftermarket skids or just replace oem. New ones from Lexus are pretty cheap (150ish) so I think I’ll stick with factory + vice and metal hammer as well.
Yeah, I hit a pretty pointy rock doing a water crossing, and I avoided it before, so on the way back I said “why not just run it over even though I see it.”

If one does want to stick with stock skids they should look for a new or used 4R fuel tank skid as those protect the full tank versus the 460 partial.
I was thinking about getting one. Haven’t checked them out yet, today might be the day…

Unless you can get a 4Runner skid used, I'm not sure it's worth it. New OEM they're like $300+ and you might as well get aftermarket for that.
RCI fuel tank skid can be had on sale for $400 and its substantial. It will take the whole weight of my GX.

My 19 Lux came with the full length fuel tank skid. Some Luxury models do, something seldom mentioned.

If I was going aftermarket fuel tank skid I'd get the BudBuilt which I believe is the only one customized for the 460. Or OEM. Based on design and functionality.

GX460 OFF-ROAD likes to hear himself talk, but he is often right. He had a small rock dent his fuel tank with a RCI fuel tank skid.

I stop on rocks with all my weight on my fuel tank skid. But I also dont really care if it gets a small dent. Its a skid plate.

RCI is my local fabricator, so gotta support the home team. 😂

Seriously considering Budbuilts powertrain skids, tho.

In US market I can't explain why a '19 Luxury would have a full OEM fuel tank skid. I've only ever seen that myself on 2020+ Luxury models with "off-road package". I wonder if that partial skid was damaged somehow before delivery and they ended up putting full length replacement on?

Glad you all posted that about the RCI. I just ordered one in 1/4" aluminum! It has not shipped yet so it's probably in production, and I emailed RCI to see if they'll let me cancel the order. It looks like Victory is the only manufacturer that has some kind of a lip at the front of the skid plate (which would also stiffen it up quite a bit).

I wouldn’t buy the OEM ones new. I will more than likely be going with Budbuilt when I buy my full set of skids.

Thankfully RCI refunded my order. they did ask why, and i explained concern with the exposed front of the tank. Wheeling here in the Ozarks, that would catch a TON of vegetation and rocks, and I'd end up pulling out sticks, blackberry bushes, vines, mud, etc. RCI was very nice/respectful on the cancellation and receiving my feedback.

I ended up going with a Talon's Garage aluminum plate. which was around $100 more than the RCI. It seems to have the best protection in that area (better than Bud Built and Victory), although it's bent metal and not welded where the two lips connect. I'll either braze it together or bolt on a section of aluminum angle stock to keep it from coming apart under impact.

Is yours equipped with the off road package? I think that's the package that includes the full length skid, which for some stupid reason was only offered on the luxes for the later models.

2019 Lux with Driver Support Package and factory optioned Crawl Control. From others that I've read about that have the full length fuel skid they seem to all have the CC also. My guess is that many Lux owners with CC just got it because the dealer ordered it like that and have no idea what a fuel tank skid is and never even look under the truck.

Just a SWAG but they may install the full length skid if ordered with CC on the Drivers Support Package. Would have been nice to have them install the tranny cooler too, however not the case like the 20+ full off road package.

On the other hand it may be only when Jupiter and Venus align. On the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

What was the build month of your '19? Wondering if Lux w/Driver Support package ones at the real tail end of production run had these installed prior to the '20 refresh. As you probably know I've followed the 460 now for over 9 years and this was the first report of that long tank skid being stock on anything prior to '20 in US market.

I will try to post pics of my bent RCI later. I'm not happy with RCI Aluminum and open front design. Not only does the front lip add protection, it adds rigidity.

I went ahead and picked up my next 3 oil changes for the gx and some for the other rigs. What are yall paying per qt, Im at $6 plus tax, same price as the Valvoline restore and protect. It will probably be $20 a qt next time I buy it. God Help us.
