Was a fatal accident in a 460 a week ago. Was hit by a box truck and killed a small child. The third row of the truck was just gone.

Box truck driver was not sober and not paying attention.
Wow... what a way to go into the holiday's... 😢

Horrible news. Possible in any vehicle when an impaired or negligent driver of a vehicle heavy or fast enough is involved.

A decade ago, a pregnant associate of ours was killed by a person who swerved up and over the median and into oncoming traffic because something distracted them. A direct head-on collision at ~80 MPH combined. The distracted driver survived. My wife and I were among the volunteers that constructed a memorial garden dedicated to their family. It is one of two tragic events that are uncomfortably close and I will never let myself forget.

This family has prayers from mine.

Down to a little under 2.5 weeks until my truck gets looked at.

I have started it a few times but once I started smelling coolant in startup I parked it.

Once its fixed I will need to address my unlifted suspension.

What did you decide on engine repairs? Swap in a used unit? I saw KYB makes some really nice MIJ suspension components for our trucks.

When my truck blew its head gasket.

Only looking at lift springs, already on 5100s.

I lifted my truck before adding a bunch more weight and now its back to stock height so need a set of medium load loft springs.

Getting another quote for the headgasket repair. Pushed it back to March.

So the Dealer was 2300 than the other shop. I'll leave then anonymous since they have done anything wrong other than quote higher than someone else.

Got out wheeling today, really stretched the GX's legs for the first time since putting on the Elka kit

Extremely impressed, rides great and flexes extremely well. KDSS is the limiting factor now when it comes to flex, and it's still amazing where this truck goes open/open front/rear. Maybe do lockers down the road but it does extremely well as-is.

Good truck.

Since getting better brake pads, everyone thinks i have lockers. 😉

You can make the ATRAC more effective that way.

Next time you have to go up the bigger rock on the right
Haha, maybe

That pic was only moments after a 5-minute battle with a muddy uphill climb that eventually took a very enthusiastic bump to make without pulling cable, so ultimate poser pic was not exactly front of mind

This picture below shows how slick it was. Once I broke through the (still frozen) top layer it was just mucky and slick. Anyone who has wheeled where temperatures dip below freezing (especially overnight) know how this goes. False sense of security, then suddenly you notch it into neutral to roll back for another attempt and when you hit the brakes you're sliding backwards downhill hoping the tires grab a rock...

Tire is at 17 PSI in this pic.

Little shelf road action in a loaner Corolla. This little gem is hidden away in the back warrens of western Loveland just before you get into the mountains by the Dam Store.

Alright, who had to get pulled out by Truckee PD? 😂

Looks like the Sequoia might have been actually stuck for some reason, but the GX was unable to pull it out. That GX should have walked out of the snow :). Nannies on the Sequoia might killed the traction as it looked fairly buried.

Either way, I was able to get a Chevy 2500 van with a dual-axle enclosed trailer un-stuck in the snow with my GX. Just needed a little bump with a kinetic recovery strap and it came right out :).

Dropping truck off tomorrow for headgaskets.
Finally get some light on Schrodingers Engine.

Adding my GX to the list of down GXs. Bringing it to a reputable off road Toyota shop in my area to diagnose a metallic clicking sound when turning slowly, and sometimes over bumps and heavy braking. I think we are looking at CV axles as the clicking has gotten louder over the course of weeks.

Is it unusual to have worn CV axles at 78k miles with 1.5" lift and stock tires/wheels?
