Makes sense. I'd love the new center stack with the updated infotainment, but that's hard for me to justify literally $10k+ JUST for that and the steering wheel. Nothing else is really that different bodywork notwithstanding.

Yea the center stack is the biggest upgrade and the auto hi-beams and wipers are a nice touch as well. The new headlights are at least an aesthetic upgrade too and slightly better than the previous version. I am not the biggest fan of the new steering wheel though, it was a parts bin "upgrade" as it was taken from the RX and it's nothing to get excited about.

You say that but I prefer 3-spoke steering wheels because of my driving style. Both hands on the bottom. It's very comfortable on long trips. Got used to it with my two Chargers, Grand Cherokee and RAV4 Prime.

It's going to be a little sad to see the new GX460 sales stop at some point. Gonna be honest, it's probably the best reliability you can buy new today. I'd never sell or trade mine, ever. I looking to buy another 460...a second one.
No probably about it. It is. If anything it shares the podium with the current 5th gen 4Runner and 3rd gen Tacoma.

I hear ya, I am tempted to keep ours but the misses is hot to trot on the new 550 Overtrail like everyone else. It'll be hard not to trade in or sell ours in a few years when she's ready to make the move.
Overtrail is going to sell well! We had a ton of positive feedback at Expo PNW this past weekend. I believe Lexus is going to have a high ADM (additional dealer markup) on this model. There is also an accessory line of aftermarket parts that will be available for the GX460, LX600 and GX 550 3rd quarter this fall through the dealers.

Accessories for the GX550 before it's even out?? Wow!

Yea, we aren't even going to consider it until in the 2025 MY cycle. Hopefully by then the madness will subside and one can be had at sticker.

Dealers are really trying their hardest to kill every interesting car/trim with ridiculous ADM.

Lexus accessory/aftermarket parts for the 460 is pretty cool however.

I heard through the grapevine that the Land Cruiser is going start at $55k and the GX at $70k with the overland trim coming in at $80k… mark up will easily bring it up to $100k+ which is nuts… best just to wait a few years

Depending upon what the options are, sometimes I'd prefer aftermarket, example, compressors, nothing like the ARB twin compressor, and I'm sure that will not be available. Even it it was, it may be cheaper to purchase yourself and install, than the dealer markup. Same with sliders and skid plates.

Curious if sales will soar with the out going GX since the new GX won't have the V8 or if sales will slip with folks wanting the latest and greatest?

Was just at the Lexus of Las Vegas dealership today and counted 20 new GXs on the lot. Thought that was pretty high and checked the website and they show 28 new 23 GXs available! Seems like a lot of inventory for that model.

Considering there are 243 Lexus dealers in the U.S. and that Acrad noted that there were 2,852 sales, that would equate to about 12 cars/dealership.
So yeah, I guess Las Vegas has about 80% more than the quota, but I'm sure there are many dealerships that probably only turn over just a couple of GX's per month.

Keep it coming Toyota, people want a GX460. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Mark my words, I bet after 12 months of the GX550 on the market you'll see a steep decline in sales.

End of an era 😢
