I'd be happy if they just offered a rear locker.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before but I was at one of my local Lexus dealers yesterday and asked about the 2024 GX. Salesman says it will look nothing like the current model and is going for a more boxy look similar to the modern day Defender. Will still be BOF and have a TTV6 under the hood.
Best info is that it's going to be shared vehicle with an all new Toyota Land Cruiser (240/250??) model for the USA. FJ70 styling on a 4Runner platform. Land Cruiser side comes only with a Turbo 4 or T4 Hybrid, Lexus version with a TTV6. Land Cruiser 240 = Lexus GX550. 4Runner and Prado continues on true to current market segment, but not until fall of 2024 as a MY25. New Land Cruiser likely comes as 5 or 7 passenger version. Lexus probably as a 6 or 7 passenger model. No info I've seen with respect to locking diffs, KDSS, or anything else along those lines, but I think it's likely to have front and rear lockers as an option. Much like the LX600 does in other markets and the LC300.

GX550 should go on sale Dec 2023 as a MY2024. Probably revealed Q3 2023.

I think we'll know more about the GA-F platform, powertrains, and suspension designs when the first of the lighter duty variants comes out in the next few months. IIRC it's early April reveal.

TX release is September of 23 with the PHEV following in December as per the dealer update timeline someone leaked.

Also - 4Runner sales dropped significantly in Jan/Feb of 2023. Roughly 50% drop from 2022. Is it a trend or anomaly? Possibly everyone who ever wanted one bought them over the last 15 years and they haven't been updated or worn out, so they've just run out of buyers.

They won't offer any more diff locks than the current GX just because ATRAC and everything else gets close enough for a stock GX's intended use cases without the risks from using lockers at the wrong time/place. I'd love to be wrong though.
Yeah, and I believe doing software manipulations is cheaper than physically adding lockers.

Excuse me sir but I am going to need to see data to corroborate with these claims. Lol /S

Some interesting posts on that CL thread. Thanks for sharing.

Might be because I drive one, but I swear one in every five cars in North Texas is a new GX460. So many blackline models now.

I rarely see a Blackline, but I do agree, they are everywhere. I live in a town of less than 20K people and there are at least 3-4 spotted daily. Back when I lived in Dallas they were as common if not more common than 4Runners and Jeeps.

Hardly ever see them here in So. Cal. If I do, 90% of the time they're driven by women who look like soccer Mom's and the other 9% are men too old to care about anything other than being in a very comfortable and reliable vehicle.
That leaves about 1% that I've seen spread throughout the southern part of this state that look off road capable.
I've seen far more GX470's that have been modded.

Still hoping to see some of my So. Cal. brothers from Orange, L.A. and San Diego on the road sometime!

There are relatively few GX460s here in Missouri. I live in a town of 18K and there are maybe 2 460s and 2-3 470s in town, counting mine. On our recent trip to the Gulf coast (FL and AL), we saw 460s everywhere, usually stock with older folks driving them. Lexus vehicles in general are not popular in the Midwest - it's domestic car country due to the Big 3 having (and still having) production plants around here for decades. Most Japanese automakers seem to have plants in the South (while the Big 3 have only a few), I can't help but wonder if that drives up the popularity.

Your mind is not playing any tricks. I live in Dallas and feel like it’s the GX capital of the world. All of the DFW area Sewell and Park Place locations have been selling majority of them before they even hit the lot over the last couple years.

I bought mine used at Sewell. I went in looking for new, but at the time, they had a 6 month wait for a new GX. Sales guy said they sell them non stop, all on a wait list.

Why would the accountants allow the engineers and sales people to roll out a new generation with numbers like these??? Sit on it and tweak it for another year...
Blackline with an off road package please? Pretty please if they add Mark Levinson sound and ditch the boulder gray seats.

North Texas and Houston are probably the highest GX populated areas in the country. An absolute crap ton of GX's get sold in DFW.

I was in Branson this past weekend so that's at least TWO GXs there. LOL in all seriousness I saw only one other GX (a 460) in MO. There were a ton of 4Runners however.
