Well now - I guess Jim can stop laughing at my 88" Series III Land Rover. Welcome to British fold. Nice score - imagine it's a bit cold driving around in that thing!

Oh it's thoroughly British. Makes a nice oil spot after driving. LOL...it even has the
fancy after market rear seal kit to slow down the after run drip.
The prominence packet that comes with the car contained a neat paper cut out
to make a paper model. Real cool. Thing is on the paper it has a cut out for OIL DROPS. No kidding.
I'm having some copies made so I can make the paper model and will frame the original.
The "barn" is going to be decorated inside with Healey and Cruiser memorabilia.
Cold driving? Heck I now feel like Gundy has a first rate heater. ;)
Side curtains and sliding windows don't seal very well. :grinpimp:
You will love how it sounds. Very lumpy idle at 1300 rpm. Blub..blub..blub.....varooom
Little bugger has more grease fittings than a 40. Lots of adjustment stuff too.
I'm slowly getting it adjusted to my tastes. The steering is so quick it's scary. :steer:
The straight cut close ratio tranny is all noisy in a down to business sort of way.
Between the exhaust note and the tranny you can't hear the radio. I wish they hadn't ordered the dang thing.
The factory cuts a hole in the dash for it and now I'm stuck with having to have a radio there.
My friend still has an original radio. Tube AM. The speaker is on the bottom of the unit.
He will not part with it. I've tried to pry it away without success. :(
My old one didn't have a factory radio so the dash had that clean look. Nuttin' but gauges and
switches.

Yeah - mine's got the requisite British drips - oddly enough Lucas has been kind to me and all the electrics pretty much work.

First pic I've seen - that thing is wicked fast looking - mind you speed and related fear is all the more noticable in an open top british sports car that basically sits low enough to drive under a semi trailer with feet to spare....

Awhh!!

Don't you dare drive that cute thing under a semi, and if you do duck!!! I disagree with the room to spare. Keep safe Doc

When I was a young man working for Prescon Co. I used to drive my
old sprite under the trailers they used to haul cables and got to use the
choice parking. The shop guys thought it was funny.
Took the top off Sunday. :grinpimp:
Heck some kids in a Nissan pickup wanted to race. We declined.
I must be getting old. ;)
Eventhough got a ride/drive too.

Very cool. Looking forward to seeing it.

Capt'n Jim and Brother Barry are headed this way this weekend. The "Barn" should be
open for viewing too. Come on up! I expect them here on Friday sometime.
Barry is bringing his new pooch for a visit with Scout. It's a 15 week old Blue Heeler.

The Frogeye memorabilia market is cool.
I've already snagged a couple of 1/64 johnny Lightings
still in the card bubble unopened. A Classic Gold blue
sprite and a British Invasion cream colored sprite.
The "takes the cake" is a 1/18 Revel die cast green sprite
still in box with removable soft top and working steering.
Incredible detail.
Liberia was kind enough to make a postal stamp of a blue Sprite
and Ghana made a cream colored Sprite postal stamp. They look sweet framed.
Add a Sprite wall clock and some art posters and throw in a 2009 calendar
and the "barn's " decor is just about set. :grinpimp:
I've commissioned an oil painting from a friend to match the Gundy one.
It's going to be so nice to have a place for all of our Cruiser stuff to be displayed
including the R/C collection.
Now if they can just get the barn/garage finished. Grrrrrrrr
New estimate is this weekend. Finish the shutter windows and cleanup is all that's left
so I can get the gravel laid next week.

Pic is another 1/64 not in box next to a Tomy 1/64 Gundy.

Barn/garage is finished. Yeee Haaa
Now I just need that dump truck load of crusher run spread.
Man that's a pile of gravel!
Wish I had a Bobcat. ;-( My back is killing me from shoveling that stuff this afternoon.
I didn't make much of a dent in the pile either.
I think I'll seek out a Bobcat guy to finish the spread. :grinpimp:
