Well, I just found out that I'm screwed, my LC uses M-OBD interface, which is aparently what Toyota uses for it's cars in Africa, Asia and South America, so no ScangaugeII for me :crybaby: .

Thanks for the help anyways.

Can you tell us any more about this interface? The connector looks the same as a standard OBD-II spec interface.

After toying around with different mounting locations I decided to mount min over that tiny worthless cubby hole above the radio. It actually doesn't looks better than I thought it would.

All I did was cut a small hole in the back of the removable plastic shelf, route the wire from the port under the dash and up behind the A/C-Heater controls and through the hole I cut in the shelf. After putting the dash back together, I cut 2 small pieces of velcro and placed them on the sides (wide part) of the cubby shelf and some on the ends of the SG. It seems to be holding up just fine.

If I get sick of that spot I can easily remove it and patch up the hole in the back of the cubby shelf. I post some pics when I get a chance to.

:hmm:

I'm not sure I can do that on mine...

I have the factory cup holder installed there

:D

For those interested in getting the Scangauge II, JCWhitney has the Scanguage II for $159.99 + free shipping using code "SAVENOW" + a $50 JCWhitney gift certificate.

Make sure you order item # ZX530594 since there's two stock numbers listed and only this one comes with the $50 gift certificate.

Here's the link:
JC Whitney

I know that it could be had for a little less directly from scan gauge but the $50 GC seems better.

I just picked up a ScanGauge from JCWhitney, it seems like a good deal with the $50 gift certificate.

I am looking forward to really getting to know my Cruiser.

I just tried to post this in a new thread but it got bumped to chitchat. Just trying to hook up my fellow mudders. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will not know for sure if everything is 100% for up to 60 days, but I think I ordered a new Scangauge II for just under $100. I ordered from a Ebay seller. Claims to be new, and have the latest greatest software updates. Buy it now price of $159.95, but after some research I think I will get 30% back, plus another $16 discount, and free shipping (free shipping may be black friday only). The 30% off is through microsof cashback, and done through paypall. The website that turned me on to the process was, *EDITED* Up to 30% off at eBay through MSFT cashback program *EDITED*

until you know for sure that it's legit, do you think it wise to advertise such questionable "deals"?

good point. I will let you know in 60 days if Microsoft Cashback gives me 47$. So far everything looks ligit.. Derek

bringing up an old post, what does everybodys TPS say? Mine is at 12 at idle, i am thinking that is a little high

IIRC mine sits at 7 when the engine is warm and idling.

I'm guessing that's throttle position sensor??

what is the acceptable range for tps?

I was trying to clear an evap code on my wife's Jeep (I know, I know, I can't believe I married a Jeep lover either....), but the Scangauge would just go to a blank screen and hang.

The work-around was to:

(1) Get to the screen where the Scangauge is asking "Clear Codes???" (and you have the choice of "Yes" or "No")

(2) Turn the vehicle off (not just to the "ACC" position; all the way off as if you were taking the key out of the ignition).

(3) Select "Yes" to clear the code(s).

Not sure why this works, but thought I'd pass along the info.
