So you're gonna fab up a hood scoop intercooler thingy? :hillbilly: Like a WRX STI. Lol. That would leave enough room up front for PS cooler.

How much room does the intercooler take up currently?

It's an addition to the radiator thickness as would the additional "PS" cooler.

Yeah I got you there. I'm asking physically speaking how big is the intercooler? Surely it is not the exact size of the radiator. There should be some room in front of the radiator even with the intercooler there.

^ Something like that. With the (+)'s being intercooler, and the (-) being vacant space.

The PS cooler doesn't have to be huge. It's a hard line across the frame and back on a stock 60. A small finned cooler 5"x10" (or something similar) should be plenty.

Yes, similar, I will take pics later and we'll see what the outcome is.. :p

I don't think that's necessary. I've seen a bunch of applications in full-size trucks that don't appear to have any exposed radiator. Why do you think this is a concern?

The 4BT runs significantly cooler than the 2F, so much so that my electric fans don't switch on between late September and late March, down here in NC.

I think it'd be fine to do this:

Don't use the cooler built into the FJ62 Rad, just get an aftermarket cooler. I have had no issues with overheating and I spent a bunch of time wheeling with slow vehicle speed in my 6BT,

They run cool.

Just curious of the airflow impeding the cooling process.. Doesn't sound like it'll be an issue at all. Me just over thinking things as usual.

Got it.. Yes after hearing and reading more about x-contamination and leaks I'll just install an additional cooler when I get around to it.

Thanks guys

No worries J! It's always better to over-think something than to under-think. I always over think everything :D

Went and got plates this morning... What a painless experience here in WY compared to TX..

Speaking of plates...

Really?! REALLY!!! You got OEM Aussie mirrors?! Where the heck did you find those?!

Cruiseryard bro. He even says that :D

Nice stuff J. Can't wait to see what you do to this 60.

I got my new hood release cable today to replace the bailing wire hood release and it's back up bailing wire release.

Sent my second wishlist to CruiserYard.. or is this #3... Goss is going to need some rust repair panels. I usually fab my own panels, but this will make things go much faster once the shop is available again.

As a lot of you know I am in no means a LC purist.. The 309/freeborn red is a cool color and I HAVE NOT ruled it out, but once again I will have to do rust repair internally and that will require the door jambs etc.. to be prepped and painted.

So, I am looking at keeping a red color, but maybe as I did with Marley adding a hint of pearl and metallics to the paint blend.

I really like the Toyota metallic Barcelona red that came on the Tacomas..

Just spitballing as I am a few months away from painting the rig.

I contemplated going with a red from the HotRod Flatz choices

Seems like it would be a cool amalgam of new finish but sort of like old primer red or faded factory.

http://www.tcpglobal.com/Customshop/rsflatz.aspx

I like the Ford Tractor Red (kinda tomato-y), but scan down the offerings in the link to the metallic ones.

Oooooh - #2201 - Arizona Bronze Metallic - almost a 4E8 but with a completely different finish.

BUT.. More than likely I will be going this route after many hours of thought..

2012 Trail Teams FJ Cruiser "Radiant Red" with black accents and a matching interior.

I have a huge roll of black marine carpet, and I build my own door and cargo panels.. FJC seats should be readily available in the Salt Lake or Denver junkyards (an easy enough mod after looking at my '13 seat..) and Wet Okole seat covers in red and black..

Paint all dash metal red and accent with a black dash cap and paint all things grey... black and red.

All of the plastic trim is in need of stripping and re-paint, repaint in black.

Black Monstaliner on the lower edge of panels and black armor.
