Dumping endless amounts of money into toys is a favorite past time of mine... glad others share the hobby!

Yup I think we all suffer from this sickness. I get glimpses of things like Toby or Boots or Doug's diesels and the day dreams and lust begins. Before too long I need a change of shorts. :flipoff2:

Didn't get time to post this yesterday. Some goodies came in. Just need some tinkering time to install and swap out.

Fuel solenoid and Aisin hubs arrived. I actually bought two solenoids. The exact replacement for the one that is on the motor now and one from the Puntang sweatshop overseas... And just as I thought... SAME ITEM! for a 1/3 of the cost with free and faster shipping...

Now I have a spare.. ;)

My FJC finally was picked up and delivered from Texas... So, I'll let Goss and Joe sniff each others tailpipes later and play musical cruisers to arrange our YOTA arsenal.. :grinpimp:

The guy had some weird 1-Off hybrid 3 wheeled electric car on the trailer. Definitely in wrong company with our cruisers and state... :) It was headed to Utah.

Spent most of the day consolidating boxes, bags, guns, etc... HOLY s***!! what a mess... I finally have a portion of a work bench and about 100 sq ft of floor space that isn't a detour route...

Removed all the spare parts from the inside of Goss and started a parts to install pile..

Those of you who have subscribed to my other builds know I'm a compulsive SHOPPER! I buy it as I want it and find it, then squirrel it away until I am ready to install it.. :D

Got a yota DIESEL badge and some turbo diesel emblems for the hood today. Also, found a 62 rear sway bar set up from CA. no rust and will be here next week.

Emailed with Georg on some ARB lockers... etc.. sent KR an email and the wish list is growing. :grinpimp:

Here are a few pics now I can see the interior and what I have to work with. Not bad, a good steam cleaning or two and it'll be in pretty decent shape. I hope to get the fuel solenoid and vent line on tomorrow and get the shop-vac after all the interior.

Guys help me remember..

I need to replace the radiator due to a small leak. Typical FJ60 radiator issue. I think the FJ62 radiator is a direct replacement for the 60.

I ask because I'd like to run the PS pump to the radiator as a cooler that runs off my 4BT. Can anyone help me out on the direct fit or should I just bite the bullet and order the aluminum 3 row from Cruiser Corps?

Thanks

J

Should be able to order a FJ60 or FJ62 copper radiator from just about any parts store. I am currently running a FJ62 radiator in Moonshine.

Radiator Barn maybe? Carquest?

I have a spare 60 radiator, but it doesn't have the lower ports like the 62 does.. (trans cooler ports..)

Saw a post by Mace on Radiator.com for a good price. Any issues mounting the 62 radiator in Moonshine Johnny?

No issues whatsoever.

J,

I believe they are dimensionally the same w/ only diff. being the integrated cooler.

My fear with those joint cooling radiators is fluid cross-contamination. I hate to rain on the parade, but I weigh all options. I remember reading something about that happening with a fairly new radiator.

What are the cons of running an external cooler somewhere?

J you have a lot of work ahead of you. I'll be watching with a  in hand! (Reminds me I need to get in the fridge brb)

Let's get crackin!

Tend to agree...

I bypassed the rad cooler when I put in the b&M trans cooler to avoid contamination and one less hose to worry about. you do lose some capacity, but the B&M has no problems handling the whole job.

Oooo. Me likey. I've debated Monstaliner. Maybe I'll order some color chips too ;)

Two of my buddies have done it with their 80 series. One is maroon/red in color. The other desert sand. Both look sweet.

Magnet offers 5 sample for free or you can get the 40 swatch pack for $7 I believe..

This will be my 3rd or 4th Monstaliner project.. I only plan on the lower panels like I did on Marley and maybe more of the hood. I'll repair all the rust of course.. I just want a friendly color blend this time from the paint line to the liner. I likey the red. :grinpimp:

Ok, I am trying to limit anymore "Add-On" items.. I have an intercooler so I worried that if I add a secondary PS cooler at the radiator I may restrict air flow to the 4BT. This may not be an issue since the 4BTs are known to run "too" cool.

x-contamination is a great point.. Thanks A

I will look into this as I never even thought about the x-contamination issue.. Like above, worried more about a airflow issue more than anything at the moment.
