Back safe and sound from Cruiserfest. Only issue the entire time was the valve covers started to leak. I have order new "grey" Cummins VC gaskets, seals and shoulder bolts. The trip there was all downhill and avg 23.4 mpg and on the uphill trip back avg 21.7 mpg.

EGTs for the most part were 900-950F, 70-78 mph normally and upwards of 1100F and slowed down to 45-55mph in the summit passes. I don't feel I can complain about those numbers one bit.

Goss loves the 65-76mph band. Completely smooth and gets unusually QUIET!! HA! Above that he grumbles a bit BUT, smooths out AGAIN around 88 mph... I can say that the Bilstein 7100s with adjustable valving are some of the best shocks I have ever run. Wavy road or deep potholes... barely made any difference to the ride.

It was great catching up with you and the misses for a bit J! I wish we could have talked a bit more, but it was BUSY there! Lol I'm glad you got to sell a few items and get a ton of exposure. BTW, I installed the weatherstripping yesterday and I think it did the trick! I still have a bit of wind noise, but I think it's coming from the bad (and lack of) weatherstripping around the windows. That's on the list too! Lol

Maat that's the bomb right there.. I love it!

So, just to add a little more bling to Goss (POSSIBLY!!) I' building (R&D) Inti clone rack for a customer and now that I have it pretty well tacked out... I think I want one for Goss., but a RTT version.. What says ye MUD?

Oooh, that's awesome, J!
How wide is it, would it fit a 120cm wide rtt folding backwards?
I'm dreaming of a rack that lets me fold the rtt backwards, with a rail along the side, maybe 8-10' high, to protect the rtt from trees and crap.
My rtt is 140cm wide, so having it sideways is a bad solution if the trail is tight.

How much does it weigh?

P, it is 52" x 87" (132 x 221cm) with the light bar/guard. Weighs in at 96# (43 kilo).

Oh, that sounds like the right size, iirc it will rest an inch or two inside the rain gutters then... Cool

I will be away from the shop for the next 7 to 10 days for a house hunting trip. I'll do my best to keep up with inquiries, but be patient.

If everything works right, Goss will be up for a fire sale, AS IS WHERE IS...SOON! My 40 project already has a potential buyer.

Thanks,

Jason

Good luck with all of the above, J. I'd suggest flying to Colorado for a much needed anti-anxiety (legal, lol) overnighter =) I have a feeling Goss will go quickly. . .but sadly, too.

I need to unload a ton of stuff for the move. I hate moving crap. My buddy and his wife are going to the bank tomorrow for the pre-approval process for our house here in WY and we are set for funds on our new home purchase, if we decide to pull the trigger there. If not, WE have no problem with going on WALKABOUT for several weeks or months until we find what we want... Hell, we may end up in Canada or London or Down Under.... Never know when Andrea and I start to wander....

Goss has a great platform for anyone to finish out and pretty quickly as well. I will sell him for thousands less than he is worth. Whether its to somebody to flip or to finish him out.

I will be back soon with a few misc cruisers as usual.... HA!

I haven't forgotten about you BTW!!! Just in terrible limbo at the moment.

J

All the best J. Maybe you'll find a house down here in Texas :D

I know a guy that would love to help work on Cruisers ;)

Your productivity has been astounding. I've been working on my rig for years and you have made the time for a good solid build in rather short order. Kudos J and good luck in the move.
I agree with your move philosophy entirely. ..move as little stuff as possible. You are a valuable asset to the FJ60 community. Cheers

I'm pretty quick at the builds, especially when I have spare time. When I get the next 60 it will be a resto-mod as all of my builds are. I hope to have a very special power-train in it (if my electrical engineer/designer can create the harness for what I want to do)

If all works out, I will be much closer than I am now. Would be a pleasure to meet up, fish and have a scotch and cigar and BS about cruisers for awhile.

Can't wait to see the rig armored out.

Thanks all,

J
