I'm looking for a good service/repair shop in San Diego area. I've got a rough idle and error code 26 and don't have time to look at it myself. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks.

i think that a lot of people are going to agree with me that SDTrux is the place to go. Im not sure of the exact address but a search on google should work. good luck

Another vote for SDTrux; they'll treat you right:clap:

I've heard Protrux is good too but haven't used them yet since they are a little far from my house.

"SD TRUX is the only way to go, the owner drives a 96' Cruiser what else can you ask for.... Oh and he is a MUD/SoCal80's Member. "

Depends on where you live. Major pain in the ass for me to drive all the way down there to drop my truck off.

I've seen some nice hack jobs from ProTrux. I told a neighbor to stop driving his truck that ProTrux "fixed up" until it really was fixed.

Good to know, thanks! Didn't the original owner sell the place a year or so ago?

Hello Everyone,

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays.
Many thanks to those of you that sent kudos my way. It is greatly appreciated. Word of mouth referral is the strongest marketing tool available. Owning and operating an auto service and repair shop will never make me a financially rich man but I am rich in many other ways. My wife and family love me, my friend respect me, my business is steady, and and I sleep well at night knowing that treating my customers with honesty and integrity is at the core of everything we do here at San Diego Trux.

Now a little history which will shed some light on the ProTrux question.
Myself and two other partners / stockholders formed a corporation in 1997, Trux Inc. That same year the corporation opened San Diego Trux in Miramar. The business plan called for multiple locations. The corporation opened a second San Diego Trux location in San Marcos in 1998. Two years later a corporate divorce was inevitable. The difference in management style and business philosophy between myself and the partner,(term used loosely), in San Marcos had become unbearable. The San Marcos "partner" was having a problem with my corporate mantra, "We put it back together the way Toyota built it." I'll leave it that. Trux Inc. bought out the San Marcos partner and closed the San Marcos location.

The aforementioned individual later opened his own shop in our old San Marcos location and called it ProTrux. He sold it first of this year and it is currently under new ownership and management.

Thnaks again for the kind words. Hopefully I can catch up with you guys in the desert in '09.
