Have you tried painting the handle with Plastidip? It works well for smoothing out the layers in FDM prints. The soft rubbery grip is an added bonus.

Plastidip is inappropriate for precisely dimensioned objects such as the glove box door handles I have been making for TJ. It's too thick.

If anyone can actually see the lines (they are extremely difficult to see in this particular part made in black, you have to hold them a certain way in the light), then you could use XTC 3D, which is specifically made for FDM parts, or use the tried and true method of building in ABS and then smoothing using acetone vapor. Another technique is clearcoating with laquer, which is what I did for C-Dan's BJ74 Turbo grill emblems. That was to weatherproof them but it had the side benefit of smoothing out the layer lines.
