it was the upper one so i will just plug the lower and use it in the upper ones place.

I got the sliders tubing bent sunday and today I finished them up. I just have to weld some end caps for the 2x4 main slider and some grinding to clean up some of the welds and then its ready for paint.

I also finished the desmog but found a little problem. the egr pipe coming from the rear of the manifold one of the studs had been broken off and ony one nut had been holding it with a few gaskets in there. So i took it off and put some high temp red rtv and the gaskets back in and tightend the one bolt down. i dont know if i can drill it out or not but if it leaks i am going to have to try. I didn't start the truck up because i wanted the rtv to dry. I have 2 headers back in virginia so i will wait till i can get back home to fix it the correct way.

Nice work, mwalls! I have sliders on my list.

Desmog is done and no leaks. But carb is in dire need for a rebuild. so hopefully by the weekend I will have the exhaust done. I should have some more goodies show up by friday.

Ya, It looks like the soonest I can make MOAB will be 2010 as well or maybe not until 2011 because I may still be here in Afghan or South Africa.

I'm envious of all you going this year. Have a great time and take as you know, lots of pics.

Nice! post up some pix in fowdarrs desmog thread

Pics wont be that different than eveyone else's other than I have the electronic mallary dizzy so i dont have any vac over there or the high altitude option.

My list..

Matt, you have been doing great work for sure. Your list is getting smaller.

My list is growing instead of getting smaller.

To do:
1. Install Longfields and Aussie locker up front. DONE
2. Put new O-ring on idler shaft. DONE
3. Install Inverter.
4. Track down intermittent engine cutout. (I hope it is ignition module)
5. Get hi lift mounts welded on.
6. Mount Fire Extinguisher.
7. Fab/Mount bumper brackets for A-frame to tow it.
8. Change all fluids.
9. 2WD low mod.

edit:
10. Need the correct shocks for the lift. Way too long now.

I better get to ordering some parts.

If I get froggy tcase rebuild and new cluch and new gear box but that will be after the first weekend in april.

Hopefully I will be ready. Going to make a test run next weekend to see how it holds up :)

Just got back from the Rising Sun CM trail leader pre-run and Moab looks as great as ever. I can tell you, however, that unless the area gets lots of rain/snow in the next month, you can expect it to be VERY dry and dusty out on the trail. A new air filter should be on everyone's list if you are going to CM this year. A friend that has lived in Moab for over 30 years says this is the driest winter there in his experience. Spring came a month early and by the end of April it could be like mid-summer without some moisture between now and then. Watch it be the snowiest CM ever now!!

hell revenge isn't that bad its got some hard core areas but there all optional nd fins and thing is a really fun trail

Got a little done tonite,

bolted up the sliders and 1/4 protection. i have the rear bumper about 1/3 of the way built.
I installed the hand throttle.
I also got all the seals and parts in today to do the front axle. Hopefully it will get done this weekend.

One month away it will be the day I get married and 2 days later were going to be in the truck on the way to moab. Cant wait.
