are you going to have dual swing outs on the rear bumper? or just the one for the fuel cans?

just one, it will have spare tire and cans on it.

Just FYI, if you have room in your rear cargo area to bring the spare inside and tie down, I would definitely do it. I caught my tire on everything in moab to the point where I couldn't open my rear hatch. Departure angles are tricky.

I am going to have it about 5" above the bumper so if i catch it on something I am in some trouble.

longfields and front aussie is in along with bearings repacked. I got the rotors turned and new pads to go along with everything.

if you get bored you can come over and rebuild my front axle :)

pull it out and put it on a bench and I will no problem. I think the next axle i rebuild i am going to do that.

Made some progress

Hey Matt, yours is coming along great. You sure have done a lot in the past weeks. Since I have about as much to do before Moab, I decided to get going. I finally got a ton of junk out of the garage, and started on the cargo area system. I really liked BritKLR's design, and he came over and we came up with the single tie down board, instead of two like his original design. The fridge will be on a slider, also donated by BritKLR. Here are some pics of the night's work.

He donated the slide, not the fridge. Cut, drilled, routered, stained...

Oh yeah

Next up is the front axle, and some Longfields, so these will be put to use tonight.

man you all were busy last night, I should have came over once i finished the brakes. What are all the holes for?

I forgot to mention I replaced all 4 of my interior lights with LED's. The cargo light is a huge improvement and under the dash is great but the dome light isn't quite as bright as i want it to be. I will try and take pics tonite when its dark.

I will have straps, sewn into loops that can then go through the holes and will be tie down points. The way we did it, I can move the loops around as needed, and if not needed, they will not be in the way, like metal eyelets or similar would be. You can see the first picture of his board. He used rope on his.

I'll be in the garage tonight.

Make sure to put some more pictures up as you progress.

Got something done tonight

Pulled the front axle apart tonight and got the third member off. Put in the Aussie. It is ready for the Longfields to go in, after a little cleanup. Mud members BritKLR and MWalls54 was here too, and they got the idler shaft pulled back far enough to replace the O-ring on it. Also had a bolt on the speedo cable housing that was leaking, so sealed it with some thread sealer. Another MUD member RoverConvert got the radio out of the dash and it will be installed into the Tuffy, and then install the original AM/FM radio in the dash.

A few brews and some good friends. It's all good.

That was quick. As usual we have a good time and not enough stuff gets done.

Here is one of the best and cheapest interior light upgrades. I got a few led's from SuperBright LEDs.
