!! That happening on the road going 90 mpg would have been bad.

Bad yes

Yeah, it would have been bad, but, it's my own stupidity thinking I can muscle the bar with a big pipewrench to adjust the steering. I should have sprayed it and let it be for a while. Amazing what you can accomplish with force....

I took the link out, got the ends loose with some heat, now just need to find replacement ends fast.

Nice job...way to get in under the wire!

Only problem is...
The gun rack is empty!

i still have some small things to do before i pull out on tuesday mornign but she will be fully ready for thursday.

gun rack would have something in it but when driving on base some people get all crazy when they see a gun.

Is your rig ready to go?

One step forward, 5 steps back...... I was cruising along adjusting my steering that was off a tad. Then this happened. See picture.

Here's my update:

TO-DO:
1. Fab/Mount bumper brackets for A-frame to tow it. Started 4/22
2 Install 1" spacers on the bumpstops.
3 Install shims on front axle

DONE:
Longfields
Front Aussie
2LOW
Oils changed 4/11
New plugs/rotor/cap 4/11
Hi-lift mounts 4/12
Cargo platform 4/12
Fridge slide mounted 4/15
Install Inverter 4/19
Track down intermittent engine cutout. (FUEL PUMP SOLENOID) 4/20
Install new steering dampener 4/20
Install 175amp fuse for rear power line. 4/20
Tie down loops 4/20
Install new TBI gasket 4/20
Pretty her up for the trip. (Paint sliders and rear bumper) 4/22
Installed new skid plate 4/22

ah just pop it back in and go. how did the skid turn out for you? I should have made them about a inch wider i think.

Skid

The skid is good. Yeah maybe a tad wider, or more angled, but it will do way better than stock. I even painted mine. Raining here this morning. It was not suppose to rain till Sunday...

I will have to go get 2X4 - 1/4" tube today to make those brackets. The 2X2 just is not going to work.

B-

I have the entire TRE kit....do you just want to replace everything and have it aligned? Keep the old parts as trail spares? LMK

Tre's

and here I was ready to make fun of you for going to a Land Rover event:eek:, and now you are my hero for having the TRE kit..... You da man!!

Yeah, that may be the thing to do. All the bigger things to do is on the front axle area. Shims/bumpstop spacer/tre's. Then it's pack and load em.

Tomorrow, new brake shoes and pads and the e-brake accuator cam cables inside the rear drum go in and while my mechanic is doing that, I'm going to redo the pan gasket (he lets me work beside him in his shop...so lucky) then that's the end of my list...except for packing 10cases of beer in there.

mmmmmmmm.beer.

I'm gonna try to bring a bunch of firewood. I have about a cord out back that needs to move.

so you went shoping at the britklr storage warehouse lol. glad you are able to get it fixed. What is it with us. Most of the thing we have done in the past week have caused some thing to go wrong.

on another note hows it running?

Yep, he is all stocked up over there. I ordered a set from Kurt and he will have it in Moab for me, so I can replace it.

I am too afraid to work on more stuff at this time. I am going to finsh what I have going, and call it good. I did find a really cool bracket for my CO2 bottle yesterday. I'll be out in the driveway all night. It's running good. Starts every time. I will replace the oxygen sensor tonight, and see if that makes a difference. I plan on getting your 60 on Sunday to do the few things we talked about.

How are things there the day before the wedding? Nervous yet?

Glad its running good. I really appreciate you picking up my 60. I left some hose on the front seat and clamps are in the bags along with the fluids in the front floor board.

Congrats!!!!

I got the rock for the GF's finger, asked the parental units for permission to marry their daughter, got a resounding yes, and I'm gonna pop the question in MOAB!

And I'm pretty sure she doesn't think I have the diamond yet....

Thats awsome. Make it at a special place where its just the 2 of you. Then we will celebrate it.

I ended up replacing the rubber lines on my power steering pump and swaping the power steering fluid with atf. the po put just regular power steering fluid in and i made the mistake of adding more to it. after i filled it up and read the label on the cup ATF. All I have to do today is tune the carb some and set the timing once I get to camp.
