The factory cloth has a soft velour texture and wears like iron. The grey truck above has 225k miles and the tan one has 180k miles. Whatever we go with, I hope it is comfortable and wears forever like the factory stuff does.

Brown in my '94

I agree that a canvas material would be nice. If I can't have canvas I think I vote for this one for grey:

I like that it isn't too dark. The checked pattern will hide stains and dog hair.

The seats in my 91 look a little different than these others so I thought I would share. They're more like a tweed and not soft like those other seats look.

I will go back through my samples and will post pics of the velour soft type material.

The cloth seats I sent Frank were from a spare set of 91-92 seats I had. They were the brown tweed. IMHO the best color/material used in the 80. I would kill to have new covers out of that material. But it's a pipe dream.

I've had cloth in a 91 and 94 80 Series. Currently drive a 97 with Leather. By far the best looking stock seats were the Brown herringbone in my 94. The cloth pattern on the later seats is ugly. Of the patterns shown I would vote for the 'Valentino' or 'Indianapolis'. If someone wants canvas there are vendors selling nice seat covers made from canvas.

Yeah I like the somewhat rougher material for how it doesn't seem to hold dust/dog hair too bad.

Any new developments with the seat covers? Selfishly...for the '91-92s?

Yea I'm ready to order when when everything gets ironed out.

Count me in.

'97 LX450 pattern, 1st and 2nd row, power, console, door panels, tan color.

Suggest back of 2nd row / cargo area in sturdy vinyl regardless of other choices.

Preference:
1) '94 OEM tweed, tan, all cloth
2) '97 OEM Collectors edition, tan, all cloth
3) M2101 Valantino, which looks grey to me, but in tan instead.
But I think grey would still look quite sharp against the interior brown/tan items, even though a mismatched vest and suite is a horrible style faux pas.
Actually, M2101 Valantino grey centers against plainer sides in tan, like the fuzzy 3rd pic down, would really look nice, as in the '91 two tone pic.
4) M2190 Indianapolis, tan, all cloth.
Or, likewise, M2190 Indianapolis centers against plainer sides.
5) Small grey checkerboard loop pile that LS1Fj40 picked, on all seating surfaces, vinyl vertical sides, would make a nice but more utilitarian look like the assumed pre '94 pic (low cost?).

Can anyone describe the difference between '97 80 vs LX450 pattern? Is it actual shape/fit difference? Would it change to the other just by getting the other type foam piece?
Is the 80 more commoner, and the LX450 more upper crust? 'Cause I have an LX450, but I'm feeling more commoner lately.

Can you possibly duplicate my pattern? I prefer a less formal look :hillbilly:

How close to actually having these on the market?

I don't think it's dead. I think Frank is trying to narrow down one or two colors for each. Like two grey, two tan/brown. At least that is what I would do. It would be a nightmare to try to have 10-15 colors.

The grey checkered pattern I posted above is my recommendation for a grey from what Frank had color swatches of. This is the color I'm going with in my 93.

As for brown, I'm sacrificing my 3rd row covers to rehab my 92 seats.
