Thanks Sam, but I have no use for a hybrid (unless I get 25% off and free shipping :D). I want a full electric drivetrain with a diesel auxillary generator. STILL nobody has come out with that - I just don't get it. :meh:

Sounds similar to the Hydrogen cars everyone is working on. The car is fully electric drive and uses a hydrogen fuel cell on board to generate the electricity. So, no batteries needed.

And, no 25% off and free shipping unfortunately. If there was I might have a few more Toyotas in the garage...

Anyone thinking about Toys for Tots yet? I got a call from the president of GBR asking about it. It has been too late whenever I get off work to call him back yet so I was just seeing if it is going to happen before i talk to him.

I talked to the bounty runners today. Let them know it is on the first. They talked about just meeting at the dobbins warehouse. One option would to meet at an drop off center that is already in place.

dont think it's a huge deal but I know the Tots event has been held at the Varsity since its inception back in the 90's.

*Fixed* my unbreakable-yet-broken rear driveshaft today. We'll see if it holds up to the same abuse as before. Now gotta find some yokes to make a square one so I can give John his back. :hhmm:

Also got the TRE's replaced and the truck aligned last week - and with the square rear d-shaft, hit 60mph on a back road with no serious issues.

Guys and Gals,
If you have an interest in experiencing the satisfaction that comes from participating in a barn raising with your friends, I have the opportunity for you. Sorry it won’t be a true barn raising, but it will be pouring a concrete pad next to my shop that is big enough to be a small barn if that helps enhance the experience.

This is a fairly big DIY concrete pour, so I need help and extra hands will help make it go much easier. All humor aside, your help is requested and will be appreciated.

The date will be Friday 9November. Saturday 10November is the rain date. Plan will be for the first concrete truck to arrive at ~8AM and be done by mid afternoon. I realize that Friday is non-viable for most, but my work schedule has this day off so some guys from work will be joining in too. If you are available and interested in stopping by, you are very welcome. I will be responsible for lunch and I am assuming that BBQ will be an acceptable choice. I will also pick up work gloves and extra pairs of rubber boots for those that don’t normally make such messes. If you have your own, please bring them to ease the logistics.

Location:
2322 Bluff Drive
Kennesaw, GA 30152

Parking: I would advise parking at the top of the driveway on the grass to the left of the driveway. This should avoid anyone being blocked in or concerned about where (or what it hits) the concrete trucks turn around.

Our house phone number is 770/429-4895. The attachment is a google map with some notes that should help illustrate the arrangement of house, shop & parking.

Thank you in advance for your help and even considering helping.
Larry

While I do agree, it only cost me about $9 and 45 minutes of time to sleeve it [internally]. Gonna see about trying out the PVC trick too Ted; just gotta see if I can find some PVC that's got an ID around 2.75-3".
