i did a search and came up with nothing. if it's there and i missed, flame away. i am a 60 owner and am looking to purchase an 80. i will get an fzj and was wondering what kind of gas mileage one of those gets. thanks for the info.

Stock: 15 - 17 on the highway. Rare guys get 14 or 18.

Modified with lift and larger tires, bumpers, sliders, etc: down from there!

I usually get just under 14 on the freeway and 11.5 to 12.5 around town with AC on. I probably push the gas a little to much off the light or else I might get better.

Usually 16 city, 18 to 18.5 on highway cruising around 80mph.

Rated at 13 mpg city and 15 mpg highway. Actual mpg varies.

As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, my 97 averages 16.5, uphill, downhill, a/c on, a/c off, blond next to me and a beer in hand. Nothing seems to matter. 55mph to 80mph 16.5 mpg. P.S. anything over 80mph and "Scotty" show's up telling me I shouldn't push her any faster

I currently get 11 city and 13 or 14 highway, but mine's not quite stock anymore. The mileage dropped with each major mod I've done (except for the move up to the larger tires -- increased highway mpg by 1 to 2)

10 with my setup. I am always spending money on gas. It seems like I am spending 100 bucks a week. oh well.

I'm getting avg 10mpg stock :( Highway I pull down 13 or 14mpg. Some reason around city I have a leadfoot..

hi,
just got our 97 month ago. drove it from ga to ohio and got about 16.3 driving 75 or so w/ 32 psi in tires. first few tanks got about 13.5 in city. they were using 20w50 castrol !

came home, bumped to 35 psi and changed to 10w30 mobil 1 and moved to little over 14 in city. just changed to amsoil in diffs and xfer and we'll see.... i'm hoping for another .5 or so. 35 psi is noticably rougher ride, so i think i'll stop there. mich. ltx tires.

then after making sure no leaks w/ new oil, will prob. move to 5w30 mobil 1 as specified in manual. should help even more.

JC

12 mpg around town. About 15 - 16 highway. I just released alot of air from my tires. Now driving @ 35psi (not as bumpy now). So I have to check if my mileage changed.

A gallon of 87 octane is averaging $2.60 :crybaby: here in the L.A. area this weekend. How 'bout in your area?

13mpg average mostly city driving. Down from 14mpg since going from 275's to 285's. Used to get 17mpg highway. Haven't been on any long trips since putting on 285's. With scouts and trailer 9-10mpg max.

Just filled up 22.9 gallons $60!!! We're up to $2.61 for freaking regular!

My average was 13 but I thinks its down to 12 after this winter.

Many things affect mpg:
big wide tires, heave weight oil, heave foot, heave bumper/sliders, roof rack etc.

I was thinking of getting some 33x9.50x15 or 30x9.50x15 so there would be less wind resistance ;) but I dont think 15 wrims fit the, will they??? 60 rims don't fit. I wanted to run the stock 225x75x15 on the 80, that would look real
Maybe a tall skinny 16" tire will work from more mpg???
