I tried the driving like a puss method that Stevezero is so fond of :D , mostly keeping it under 70. I improved my gas milieage from 12mpg to 14mpg. Might have to drive like that permanently, don't really care if people pass me.

Just picked up my 80 and drove it back home, a 1300 mile trip that I did in just under 21 hours. Best tank was 12.8 mpg and worse was 10.5 mpg.

That is at an average minimum speed of 80 and maximum of 100 or so, didn't calculate properly because I had my new 33s on!
Can't wait to see how the tires will last but I like them a lot. They are the Nokian Vatiiva in the 285/75/16. They have a similar tread pattern than the revos but with a square shoulder. D rating and 8 ply. Great tires and less expensive than the revos...

Cheers

I got 480 MPG once. It was a downhill stretch of exactly 2 miles. I measured the truck's weight before and after. It decreased by 6 oz so I figured that was about .024 gallons giving me an incredible...

480 MPG

To validate this outstanding accomplishment, I parked at the top of Sandia peak, put the transmission in neutral, took a picture of the fuel gauge at the top, coasted the 6 miles down the mountain, took another picture of the fuel gauge at the bottom and, based on the needle's movement I determined that it used precisely .072 gallons giving ....

480 MPG Again!!!

Amazing, doncha think?

I got 21mpg (imperial gallons) once. Drove like an old lady. Route was relatively flat. That was pre lift etc etc etc etc. Now I get 16 mpg (imperial gallon) on a good day. BTW a US gallon is 3.78 litres and an imperial gallon is 4.54 litres. I Just finished driving 2500km across and around B.C., pulling a 3500lb boat and averaged 9.76 miles per US gallon and 11.45 miles per imperial gallon.
Cheers,

I can't really speak in this thread with my 3fe, I get about 14-15 mpg dropping to 13 or so with "in the patch" driving (oil rig roads). Just curious though..I read from the beggining of this thread way back in April -it appears-people were reporting 2.60ish for a gallon of medium grade and down to 1.85 in MI?

Anyway, what are all d rest of ya at now? We are steady at 3.09/gal of regular 85-87 octane.
