I am seriously considering these vs. new OEM ones. The best price I can find on new OEM is about $650 for the pair. At $440 Freedom Offroad are a full 33% cheaper.
I do still have the unmolested AHC suspension so I wonder if these will cause any issues?

You and me both brotha. I am going to need new upper ball joints and TREs this year and figure that if I do go over the 1.5" lift I have then I am going to need them anyways. Other ones that I am looking at is the Tough Dogs, they are a little more expensive but cheaper than the rest of the lot but not quite as cheap as the Freedoms.

Where are you finding TD upper control arms stateside?

Sorry that is my bad. I was looking at Jason (Trail Tailor) as he has the 200 series ones, not 100 series ones. I keep getting that mixed up in my head. You might be able to contact him though and see if he can get his hands on a set for you.

I'm interested, ran spcs on my tacoma and didn't really like them honestly..

Kept losing alignment.

I put them on a couple months ago, and have really enjoyed them. I was surprised how much tighter my steering felt. I’m lifted 2” exactly over what she was stock, after alignment the small bit of highway drift I had disappeared. For the price, with new ball joints, you can’t beat it. The new ball joints are greasable, so don’t forget to pump some in before you hit the road.

I am sure they are great improvement over old and tired UCAs but the question is would they last another 10 years and 100k miles?

And the answer is very very unlikely, especially the way I drive mine!
I think I am going the OEM route.
Buy once, cry once...

I ordered a set of these. I have the Ironman foam cell kit on my 99. Have some new lower ball joints along with tie rods, all from Cruiser outfitters, ready to install as well.
Just came across these on Amazon, how are yours doing? I just installed the Ironman pro foam cell stage 2 system and am looking at doing ucas soon.

I've had them installed along with my Ironman FCP kit for about 4 months now and they are still good. I've taken it 75 down the freeway and nothing flies off so there's that.

Just installed these on mine. Quality seemed very nice for the price. Time will tell how long they last. Install was easy on my 470 with no issues or problems.

Bumping an existing thread.

Has anyone replace the ball joints on these Freedom Offroad UCA's? I developed an annoying popping noise on turns and narrowed it down to the upper ball joint.

I couldn't find any information online about anyone replacing the ball joints and saw that their website offers replacement ball joints but you have to "Pre Order" them?

Will other OE ball joints fit?

Are you able to press the BJ out and see? Or take some calipers to the one installed and see if it matches a replacement BJ

I know they are serviceable I am just not sure where to find the instructions or which ball joints fit.

I will give them a call tomorrow.

Even if not a Toyota bj, it would stand to reason it’s off the shelf from something….can’t see them creating custom bj’s just for their arms.
another thought would be to search some Tacoma forums, seems like they’ve been around longer for that model and this may have come up for tacos
