So the release bearing mounts are rather different I was going to post some pictures but my camera cord isn't the same as my parents so I can't post them up. If anyone has a 1F release fork that I can buy or have give me a call on my cell at 884-9466 or if it doesn't work leave a messege for me at my parents house 897-0238 thanks

On a side note removing a transmission from an FJ40 difficulty level is a 10 out of a possible 24 and putting it back is a 12 out of 24:beer:

Well I know have rear shocks and man is it nice... i went for a ride around the block and my back wasn't nearly as mad at me as before... Next up is to do something more permanent for rear lights. Also I'm hoping that with the ICBC settlement from the golf I'll be able to put in a new tub (perhaps aqualu perhaps something else) Does anyone have any experiance with aqualu that they'd like to relate... or even better an extra tub lying around that they don't want?

I had one for years on my 40, pretty damn nice.

only two things I'd mention, would be to soundproof the hell out of the underside while you have it off, and if possible try to reinforce where it bolts on to the bottom of the cowl. the cowl can move a bit for and aft, and after a couple years my doors were sagging and not fitting all that well.

In the end I had a front cage hoop and tied it into the dash, solved the problem. Other than that, it was great.
I made a big jesus storage bin for the back ( was too cheap to buy the one they offer as an option) and that was pretty handy, I made it deep enough to store 4l oil jugs in standing up.

In case you're interested, we're an Aqualu dealer. We have a fair bit of experience with these tubs, and can offer some info if you want to call with specific questions.

My first experience with Aqualu was in 1992 or 1993... so I've been down that road before.

I also have some Japanese aftermarket 40 series tail lights coming in soon...

thats good to know... what sorta pricing can you offer on the aqualu same as their site or more expensive/cheaper? As for the tail lights I think i'm just going to build a new bumper and go with round tail lights. As a temporary measure until the new bumper I think I'm going to go to a round brake light and a couple of smaller blinker/reverse lights.

I'll have to see what can be done with the pricing - it's been following the ebb and flow of the dollar as has everything else. Generally, there's not much room in the pricing BUT you should talk to me first as I can probably have it shipped here and still sell it at close to the listed price on Aqualu's site - thus saving some money in the shipping costs.

If you want to go and pick the items up in Kelowna, then I can save you some $$ over the listed prices fore sure. The margins are quite slim (it's the norm for this industry), but still give me a call first with regards to what you want to do.

Last I heard, Lance at IPOR (Iron Pig Off Road) was the distributor for the Pilgrim tubs. They are supposed to be really nice, if not pricey.
