So dumb question, is there any easy way to get the brake drums off?
BFH is the best way...BFH=Big Fawken Hammer
if that doesnt work try backing your brake adjusters off.
that is if they arnt totally siezed up.

No worries on big hammer... I got sick of trying to get the brake lines out and bought all new wheel cylinders, drums, shoes and new lines. So can beat the crap out of it without worry.
there are usually two threaded holes in the drums so that you can thread in two M8x1.25 bolts which will push against the axle flange forcing the drum off. And make sure you put some disc brakes up front while you're at it

I just dealt with the backs... almost done... one fitting was wrong so hopefuly get it fixed tomorrow as my other truck is dead too ... fun times...

in other news if anybody needs new brakes I'll sell what I got cheep as I didn't use it ... mine were in good shape. If not I'll take them back to lordco.

Well I still have to get my camera going. But I do have a couple of before pictures from when I first got it.
mmm i have ur case of beer sitten in my entrance....just realizing that ill need to find something to put it in as i dont think they would much like it if i just waltzed into school with a 12 pack.....i can prolly pick up the springs after school?

Well got close again. Everything back together start bleeding the system and one of my brand new wheel cylinders leaks.

anybody know how to pull out the rear windows in the fj40 without breaking them? /put them back in ?
also anybody want some cheep checker plate? could probubly make it work... it worked on the fj I pulled it off of !

Carefully! It you need to peal back the seal on the outside and push the window in. Start at one end and then work along the top or bottom. Then it should just slip out with the seal on it still. I have done it on a few windows, just don't use metal tools against the glass. It is tempered so its fairly strong.

Well I finally got around to swapping the defective wheel cylinder out... just gotta get someone to help me bleed brakes and weld in new shock mounts and its done... till christmas break
