For the shackles, doubling up would work.

Ya...... Gussetts will ad strength and flexibility and keep weight down. Will be great for bumper mounts.
I don't know about shakles as I have never made any. What I do know is not too make them 14"long because Wayne will love them and Ryan will never talk to you again.

I actually meant the shackle holder tow point dealios on the bumper, but he should make some new spring shackles too while he's at it.
Those one's look a little long to me, and if he's not careful those suckers will start to grow, what with all the fertilizer that gets spread about from that part of the world.

my shackle mounts were like 5/8 or 1/2 thick if i remember correctly and went through the bumper to the frame for mounting...

These were a 1/4inch piece that doubles as the frame mount... I welded 2 more 1/4 inch prices to both sides of the tow point and I'll make a brace or two... I just have to decide if I wanna weld it on or bolt it on...
I'm leaning towards bolting but we'll see how much I drink...

Well I finally did something on the truck. Most of the winter has been spent avoiding the cold and fixing up the barn to work in.
Slider is finally mounted on the passenger side. Going to do the drivers side later this week.
