It might be way easier to let Weak-Link break in your tires. You know that the sidewalls are pretty darned stiff on new tires. When he gets them broke in you should be able to install them and just air down and drive it out. You might owe him gas money for doing you that big of a favor though. :D

but now that you mention it, speaking of Weak-Link and owing gas money..............

What did those bad boys run you? Who did you order them from? 15x8? 15x10? What is the backspace? I had some ordered with 2.5 reverse back space, but I had to cancel the order due to the tires being back ordered. Thanks. Looking nice!

The back end is another 1 off idea I've had rolling around in my head for a while. That one I'm pretty excited to get underway.

why dont you use an 80 series rear, it would be pretty close to the right width looking at your sleeves, theyu are 5 inch wider than 60 series....................disk brakes

what csize are your tires?

Too much. I got them from Techtim @ Wild West Off Road
They are 17x9s w/4" of back spacing. They are Allied cast Monsters. I've always liked this wheel and I finally had a project to throw them on. I got a great deal on a set of brand new tires that still had the tags on them and they happened to be for a 17" rim.

I could use an 80 series diff but what I have in mind will be substantially stronger than that. It will have disc brakes as well.

Tires are 39.5s

Little updates
Got all of the tires and wheels mounted up.

Had a friend help me with the 465 nose cone. Got it turned down and got the sleeve installed.

Got the new double wide sealed roller bearing for the pilot.

and he also helped me remove a couple of broken off exhaust studs from my manifold. I'm really glad about this part as I wasn't looking forward to drilling them out and re-tapping.

The wife and kids are going to be gone all next week so I'm hoping to make a bit of head way on this project then.

Well after my morning of soap box derby racing, (this is my 4 year old daughter)

I spent an hour or so and got started on the passenger side tube widening.
Got the knuckle cut and pulled out.

and the knuckle pressed into the sleeve.

Hopefully I can get the sleeve welded on tomorrow afternoon.

you get the front end done yet?

getrdone

Nope. Spent the day with the wife and kids since they'll be taking off for a week. Sux to see them leave for that long but hopefully Hazel will stop taunting me with the "just 2 more wheels and we can go wheeling daddy" when she gets back.
