Got a little work done tonight.
Front end is completely disassembled.
Got some of the old brackets stripped off. I stopped cutting when I started a fire on the housing from all the grease/oil caked on it.
I'll get the passenger side brackets lopped off tomorrow night.

Got the shackle hangers cut off.
Blew all the rivet heads. I'll drive them all out tomorrow night. They always come out easier after they've gone through a heating/cooling cycle.

I haven't decided on the drivetrain just yet. I have a 465, 4.7 Toy box, and split case adapter sitting in my garage but I have another idea that I'm researching.
The front end is getting widened with the parts shown above from lcwizard. I'd been thinking of a way to get the front end wider and figured I'd turn out a set of sleeves and have some shafts built. Then I got turned onto lcwizards info and said screw it, no need to waste my time on the lathe.
The back end is another 1 off idea I've had rolling around in my head for a while. That one I'm pretty excited to get underway.

Looks like a good project. Nice dice on the rearview mirror.

Sister got me those for Christmas a few years back as kind of a joke gift. I threw them in the 40 (visible by all the dirt on them) and Jason transplanted them to the 60. I think they've become a staple.
I sure hope you have a daughter. The light you are using to work on the front axles seems a bit girlish.

Took me a second. I couldn't figure out what was girlish about my neon yellow flood lights, then I remembered the Cinderella night light. My wife put it in the garage for the dogs. 
BTW, I have 2 girls. My oldest (4) loved the 40 but thinks the 60 is so cool. She told me the other day"look daddy, this cruzer has doors so we don't fall out"

Got the front bumper stripped off.
Got the shock mount, spring hanger, and shackle mounts cut off both sides.

Got the power steering gear box pulled so I can drill and tap it for assist.
and I got the bumper mounts pulled from the frame horns.

After that I zippe doff the spring pads from the front axle.
Then I figured I'd pull the rear bumper. I messed with 2 bolts with seriously jacked up threads and I decided it was time to call it a night.

You may want to keep an eye on your roof during you build. If those tires are going on that rig when you are done, you might not be able to get it past the garage door.

BTW, got all the Monster Valves installed, just need to mount the last 3 tires.

I'll just raise the header above the garage door and add another panel to the door itself.
It might be way easier to let Weak-Link break in your tires. You know that the sidewalls are pretty darned stiff on new tires. When he gets them broke in you should be able to install them and just air down and drive it out. You might owe him gas money for doing you that big of a favor though.
