Yup, stability. My 40 was relatively low, had a full width 60 up front (69") and was the most stable sidehilling rig I've owned. I wanted to build this one lower than it is but I don't feel like re-building the back door arches to make the tires fit. At least with the wider axle I will get back a bit of stability with the added height.

I added 2" spacers to get me a little wider after strapping on my 39.5s too... It made a noticeable difference in the stability. I'm at about 80-81ish inches wide. I'd like to get rid of my monster hangers do even more sheetmetal cutting sometime soon like a you, Kavik, boots, and others have done to get the COG down.

Dang, if I was a chick you'd have a black eye right about now..

So........... You dont like chicks?

Anyway, I'll try to remember to get a bulgde to buldge measurement tonight.

Weak Link "is coming over tonight" and your going to get a "bulge to bulge measurement" to post on the internet... (puke)

This is a family type forum, you guys keep your man-love stuff on myspace where it belongs... :ban:

Yeah I thought about just running spacers but it starts killing your steering when you push the pivot farther away from the trunion. I've done it before so I'm not knocking it, I just wanted to keep this tight as my wife might drive a bit and I want her to be comfortable.

You running spacers to clear the 4" BS rims or are you running bigger rims (i.e. 17's??)

Man love is good here

And tonight I got the back end cleaned up a bit. Got the axle pulled and blew the rivets on the spring hangers.

No pic of the new hangers welded on . I moved them 3" back from stock to get the tire a bit further away from the door. Should work out pretty well.

Oh, and I guess I won't be running 3.73s, even temporarily. I pulled the driveshaft and I could see the pinion flange wobbling around. The pinion nut came loose and I'd saw there is roughly 1/4"-3/8" of play. I was rolling when I saw it. I'm interested to get inside and see how bad the third is.

And the last one for the night.

I built this 4.7 mini case with a 465 adapter about a year and a half or 2 yrs. back. I never ended up running it nor did the 3 other buddies who had posession of it in the mean time. Now it's back to me and it's going to get run.

So anyway after noisy time ended (I try to knock off about 9:30 to be decent to the neighbors) I started in on the mini case. Got a bit torn down but with no air tools (too loud) I didn't get as far as I wanted.

Did you ever take the measurement?
