Heath's Sliders

Here's mine, designed and built by me. They rotate down to be steps for getting wife and kido in, and rotate up and can be pined up for off road protection. Continuous plate rather than tubes, means no place for rocks to jam into, so they slide well. Actually, since I've put some more trail time on them, I tend to just leave them down, and since there is no lock in the down position, if they hit anything, they just rotate to the up position.

I run the bad-boy MetalTech sliders... These sliders are set up with a lazer cut and formed instead of box tubing, making them the strongest slider available. They also have the two stage "kick-out" to keep the big 80 but off of trees, rocks, J**ps, etc. They are powder coated inside and out and have a 1/2" thick cat guard that won't collect mud, sand, AIDS or anything else. These are the ultimate sliders!

Thanks Shred. All my junk is primed, sprayed with duplicolor graphite wheel paint then clear coated. The sliders turned out shiny because I tried clear w hardener.

Bump It Offroad

I bought these from Mike. His prices are low and he makes a very good product. Great guy to work with. I bought them in raw steel and painted them with rustoleum.

Rotating sliders

...Actually, since I've put some more trail time on them, I tend to just leave them down, and since there is no lock in the down position, if they hit anything, they just rotate to the up position.

How is that working out for you long term? Do they rattle or make noise on the road? Do they bang up and down on the trail?

I'm interested in doing something similar, would you be willing to share drawings or specs?
